Looking for an affordable Reception Venue...PLEASE HELP

I recently got engaged and am looking to find a venue for late March/ early April. I am looking for a hall/venue on a budget anywhere between or near Kalamazoo/Jackson/Ann Arbor. Anyone have any ideas out there? I appreciate any feedback. I also prefer a venue that will allow me to do my own food/beverage if possible.

    Welcome to the boards!

    There is a "stickie note" at the top of our board with a yellow pushpin that has the vendors used by local brides, with prices.

    If none of these works for you, it would help us if you provided more information

    Number of anticipated guests
    Budget ("affordable" means different things to different people)

    Weber's in Ann Arbor seemed pretty reasonable (again we don't know your budget).  They have a large room and a smaller atrium available, but you would need to go with their catering.  If you want to bring in your own catering, one of the metro parks is always a good option.  I have also heard of Stone Arch in Saline, who lets you bring in your own catering, but I am not sure of their rental fees.

    if you're looking for a place close to K-zoo you might want to actually ask in the Grand Rapids local board...

    I also looked at Misty Farm.. Very popular... Its booked till 2013 per the their site :(

    Sharon Mills Park in Manchester may be another option.  You have to use their catering.  It seems about 35 pp or above.  Its very beautiful and very awesome picture ops.
