Marriage License?

Hello all!

Just wondering if anyone has gotten their marriage license here in Indiana yet and if it went pretty smoothly? I saw that one of the requirements is to have a "premarital exam certifcate." Was that pretty simple to obtain? I'm getting married this June so I'll have to get it soon...

Thanks!!

In Fort Wayne, all we had to do was go to the courthouse, fill out some paperwork that was mostly addresses, parental names and our future names, and pay the fee. Then, after our ceremony, our officiant signed it and sent it in for us. We got it back, signed, sealed and official, about 2 weeks later.

I just got my license yesterday.  Just had to show drivers license and answer the questions as mentioned above.  I have never heard of the exam.  Where did you hear about it?

You don't have to do any kind of exam. All you have to do is have your driver's license and money and answer questions they ask. It is really simple and short.

I think the requirements vary by county.  I am in Marion County and I only have to do what was mentioned in pp.

You can also call your clerks office. They will tell you for sure. I saw the exam stuff online also. But in Monroe county it doesn't pertain.
