Hey all!
I'm posting asking for help brainstorming some unique reception sites. My fiance and I are going to an expo at the Grounds for Sculpture tomorrow, but we're not crazy about the looks of the building and the space. I like the space personally, it's like a NYC loft with huge windows looking out onto the beautiful grounds, but the building is brick and sort of resembles a college gym. My fiance is not so crazy about the exposed duct-work in the ceiling. However, the thing we LOVE about it is that the Grounds For Sculpture is one of the most truly unique places in NJ, and we want to share that with our guests. We thought it would be really interesting and different to have them walk around the grounds while we did our photography. Especially since that way, we don't have to miss our cocktail hour!
The issue we may run into is that it's a bit pricey, not as bad as the beautiful restaurant on the grounds: Rat's. They quoted us at $230/head! It DOES include open bar, all the food, the cake, and their own events coordinator for the day, and we wouldn't have to rent any tables, dinnerware, linens, etc. Also, we wouldn't pay a corking fee since it's their own bar. But it's still verrrrrry high!
So I'm asking for your advice! We live in New Brunswick, but are getting married in the church on Nassau Street in Princeton. Can you make any suggestions of really interesting places for a small wedding (tops 70 people) within a comfortable driving distance?
Thanks for all the help in advance guys!
