Hello Hudson Valley folks....
So...after hearing about how big of a deal wedding planning is, I decided to open my big mouth and say "it really isn't, in fact, I can do it" hence my username "gottenmyselfinto".
How rare is it for a groom to be in charge of planning? Not sure...but it will be fun and exciting. I'm hearby officially entering the fray. Here are the basics everyone;
Wedding date...flexible but shooting for a Fall 2011 date, October looks good. No rush right...plenty of time

Venue...not selected. Bride and me feel comfortable with a low key country type event. Probably have around 100 guests. We live in NYC right off of Columbus Circle...so there is also a temptation to do something in the city as part of the celebration...not sure if this will happen or not.
Dress...she is thinking of a sexy red dress (just telling you this so ya'll can get that we are anything but traditional. Also things like "why do we need flowers" have been voiced by the bride to be.
We will have a slew of different people attending...from artists, performers, authors, jokesters, etc etc from many different cultures. She is Lebanese, Cuban, Spanish, and Mexican and I'm a lucky Euro-mut from Southwestern Virginia.
Any tips, tricks, or words of wisdom would be appreciated. Just saying hi and trying to figure out theknot.com right now.
Thanks,
John
