Need to Vent.. NWR

My boss lashed out at me this morning.. yelled/swore at me infront of our office staff & I don't know what to do.. I don't know what to say. I haven't done anything wrong, I was explaining to him a situation he asked about and he freaked out on me. I feel so disrespected... embarassed.. This has never happened before. I get that he's stressed out with things, but to lash out at me like that? I can barely keep my eyes open because I've been crying so much... I literally have a knot in my stomach & still feel shocked. I've applied to about 20 other administrative assitant positions this morning.... I dont want to work in a workplace where I'm treated like this... Ive had a horrible, horrible day & needed to vent to someone.. I just want this day to be over & possibly this position.

I'm so sorry you had such a horrible day. What he did was rude, unprofessional, and uncalled for. You could always report what happened to HR. That's what I would do. He had no right to do that in front of other people or even in private. I hope you find a new job really soon though!

Oh my goodness, you poor thing! Nobody deserves to be treated like that, ugh, that is so freakin rude of your boss! . Maybe he will apologize or something and it won't be so bad tomorrow. Is this typical behavior? Anyways, like it was mentioned in PP, maybe the internal transfer is best. I hope you have a better day tomorrow!

That's awful! I would definitely report this to HR. Nobody ever deserves to be spoken to that way or embarrassed in the workplace. What an asshole. Big hugs to you!!

Omg this is horrible! I'd be feeling just like you. You should report it, but if this happened to me, I'd probably just look for another job too.

That's not how you treat someone who does deserve it, much less you. You need to sit down with him and a superior manager and it needs to be addressed. I would have flipped out if that happened! So sorry

What a tool! Yeah, that's definitely not okay. Like someone else said, I'd report it to HR and/or request an internal transfer.

Thanks for all your support ladies.. yesterday was an extremely rough/long day.. Unfortunately we're a small local buisness, HR & transfers dont exist.. he's the head hauncho so I can't do or say much.. I woke up this morning with the worst stomach ache. I've been here for almost 3 years and today I came to work feeling so nervous.... what an awful feeling. Just ready for this week to be over & for the long weekend to start.

That's horrible! I can't believe that people still act like this in a professional work place, just crazy.

Hopefully something will come along soon, check out indeed.com, they always have a ton of stuff.
