"Engagement" Photos..what to wear?

We're doing our engagement photos soon in Central Park.  We're getting married in October, and those pics will be all about the "city" but I want the engagement photos to be out in nature, hence Central Park.

My question is...what to wear for that?  I'm thinking it might be nice to have a very casual, summery white dress but then again, is color better?  And what should FI wear?.  I guess I'm wanting the best of both worlds...an outdoor wedding shoot AND a chic, evening one, too!  Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

I am a fan of more colorful dresses in engagement pictures, because at your wedding you will be in white and it's your chance to have fun and POP.

For ours, FI decided on a Marine blue button down and jeans, so he looks nice but still like himself. I still haven't picked mine, either.

    Good luck!

I know folks like to get dress up in costume or use the e-session to do something funky.  Personally, I wanted it to be a reflection of who we are and to be relaxed, because that's us in a nut shell.  So we wore jeans and sneakers in the park and were playful and had lots of laughs and smiles, then we changed into a nice shirt and nicer jeans with shoes for more intimate, serious pictures.  I loved how it turned out and it was "us."

thanks...yes...capturing "us" is key here.  Now that the weather has turned soooo hot...I'm actually thinking of doing the photo shoot AFTER the wedding, when we get back from the honeymoon.  The leaves will be turning (October) AND we'll be tan.  Pretty unconventional, but we're second-timers.  We can do what we want, right?
