Beaverton Reception Sites

We've decided to host our ceremony in our church building, which will comfortably seat the 150 people invited.  We still need a reception site (indoors, since it will be in October) that is nearby.

It is very important that this place be a bargain.  I'm only considering renting a venue for the reception because we simply *cannot* fit a reception in my church building.  Does anyone have any suggestions that are in Beaverton, indoors, and are relatively inexpensive?  I'm at a loss!

I don't know Beaverton well enough to list places, but typically community centers, senior centers, schools, and city parks tend to be the cheapest options. Also, could you talk with your pastor about maybe hosting the reception at a different churh since yours isn't big enough? There may be someone he's friendly with who would be willing to let you host there.

I think those are great ideas nannabug! My parents used to live in the Portland area but it was in Troutdale. I've heard that some of the McMenamins site don't charge you a fee to rent their place if you order enough food and stuff to drink. But I've only "heard" that. I don't know it for sure!

It's true with some of the McMenamins, we looked into it initially. The one in McMinnville will waive the room fee with $2,000 in food/drinks, and the one in Forest Grove did as well but I don't remember the base amount.

At which church are you having the ceremony?  Beaverton is a spread out town with crappy traffic (can you see my east side bias showing? :-P )  and you'll want to keep it pretty close.  Knowing which part of town the ceremony is in with help me with some ideas.
