REALLY???

So our rental company gave my cell phone number to the mother of the girl who is having a wedding at our venue the day after ours so I could possibly let her use our rentals for free.

1) What business worth ANYthing gives out their clients personal information???

2) How big are the balls on this lady?? Why on earth does she think I'm going to let her just borrow the things we've paid hundreds of dollars for? And especially WHY is she calling TWO days before my wedding to chat for 45 minutes??

3) How is it my problem that she doesn't have enough time to set up on Sunday??? Our contract states we're there until 11am. If she has such a huge problem with this, um- Maybe she shouldn't have signed a contract agreeing to it?

4) Mostly- WHY is she thinking ANY of this is my problem??? Take it up with the rental company and the venue- NOT me.

Holy crap! The balls some people have! Unreal!

I sincerely hope you gave the rental company a piece of your mind. They have NO right to give personal information like that to another client. Occassionaly someone will ask me for references, and before I do so, I contact them to get an okay. What the rental company did was NOT okay. I would certainly rip them a new a**hole. Secondly, I can't believe that lady even called to ask if she could use YOUR rental stuff for free! And for the rental company to even suggest it! What kind of answer did you give her? I hope you told her to go rent her own damned stuff.

OMG. Wow, that is completely unprofessional and inappropriate. They can't legally do that I'm pretty sure! You don't need to worry about this now, but when you're back from your HM I would definitely call the vendors and give them a piece of your mind because that is CRAP. I would also post this info somewhere like yelp or TK so people know what kind of company this is.

Crazy I would be mad! You seriously should tell her though if she will pay half of what you paid she can have them!! Weddings are expensive i'm all about saving!

We did call and rip the rental place a new one, and I plan on mentioning what happened in reviews. They were really nice to work with until that happened, so I probably won't completely smear them, but it's DEFINITELY going to be mentioned.

Her other option for rentals was paying to have the venues chairs moved from one place to another (we decided to just get another set of chairs to avoid that- Plus the venue wasn't offering that option before we rented the second set), but no clue what her rain plan was. She also wanted to piggyback off our golf cart rental- The venue owner told her he thought he would own one by the time of her wedding (something that was never mentioned to us), but it turns out he hasn't gotten it yet. Fortunately, our carts are family owned, so there's no way she can use those.

I told the lady that our rental was from Friday afternoon to Sunday. If she wanted to rent the same stuff from the company and just keep it out there, that was up to her. We don't want to share liability on anything that her party might do to the tent & chairs. I have no idea why she, the venue owner, and rental company are having such a hard time with the concept that her rentals are a totally separate transaction.
