Affordable ceremony music ideas?

Hey ladies! I am getting married in the Brophy Chapel downtown late next year. It is a Catholic church, but we are not having a Catholic mass. We have the church booked, but we need music! Any ideas of who to hire that is not that expensive? The ceremony is 30-40 minutes and most people cost $250+... any ideas??

Thanks! -Janet

I have a friend who is in college and plays violin. She'll be playing at our ceremony. You could always ask people if they know anyone in college, maybe even high school, that'd be able to play for a reduced price.

Maybe call the Music Department at ASU? They may have student groups that are willing to play for less money.

We asked a friend of ours to play guitar at our ceremony. It's free, though we will obviously be giving him a nice gift at the Rehearsal Dinner. Do you have any musically-gifted friends?

have you checked Gigmasters.com?  Just type in the date, location, and what kind of musician you want.  That's how we found our ceremony musician.  A lot of performers start at around $100.

We booked a classic guitarist for $150 to play our ceremony. His name is Daniel Tekunoff, and he was very talented.
