I'm getting close to choosing my invites

As some of you may know I'll be using Carlson Craft invitations. Well after much debate Fh and I  finally decided on a pocketfold invite. Now It seems as tho I am plagued with a another desicion to make and I was just wondering if I could get some opinions from you ladies.

Neither of the two invites pictured are mine but the the first one will be my colors. A white invite with purple imprinting and purple background card. I'm just not sure how I feel about the gray pocketfold. I'm considering a white pocket as well(see pic).

If you had to choose white or grey...which would it be?

Thanks ladies.

I like the gray because the center of the flowers is gray, but you said that's not your invite SO if your invite has no gray on it whatsoever, I'd go with white.

    Where are you ordering from?

I like the gray.  I think it looks good against the purple.

I'm ordering my invites thru Carlson Craft. I like the grey too but I feel like white is more for a wedding. Fh says grey should be fine bc the groomsmen will be wearing grey tuxes. I'm sooo torn.

FWIW, I used a metallic sand color for my pocketfolds with turquoise mats/envelopes and didn't even think about the fact that there wasn't a lot of white (maybe I should have?  haha).  I think that either one you choose will look great!

I vote grey. I was another bride that between invites, linens colors, flowers, everything but the dress is a color other than white. white for a wedding is an old standard that is quickly being replaced by personalization, choose whatever beter represents you and you FI.

I vote for gray.  I like the look of the gray and purple together.  However, if you're feeling more traditional, go for the white.

I like the gray as well.  My invites were a yellowish cream color and the envelopes were the same color.

I know how you feel.  I'm making mine and I've got my design about 90% done.  I'm just waiting on two more paper/envelope samples before I commit and then I can start ordering all my supplies and get to work.  I ordered some stuff on Sunday and every day I come home from working wishing and hoping to see the envelopes by the door!

Thats great your doing them yourself. While I'm not printing mine. I do have to assemble them so that could get annoying for 100 of them with the glue dots and all the inserts. I honustly can't wait to get past the invite portion of the planning. Because I'm one of those people that has to have everything just right I tend to obsess very easily.

Post pics of your invites as soon as you get one finished. I love seeing DIY projects.

The one DIY thing I knew I'd be doing all along was the invitations.  I make cards for everything and it was kind of expected from me.  We're doing pocketfolds, and while I'm ordering the pocket, everything else will be DIY.  Thank heaven for knottie squirrly and her templates.  They were a huge help!

The last of my paper samples came yesterday and I finalized the design.  Wording on the invitation and inserts are still up in the air, but that's the bonus of printing them yourself, you can wait until the last minute!  However, there's that whole assembly part, which you mentioned.

I'm taking my "prototype" to the post office today to weigh it.  I'm really trying to get it to stay at the 2oz rate (61cents).

Are you using cardsandpockets for your supplys? I've bought custom paper from them in the past and was realy happy with their prices and services.
