String Quartet?

I'm looking for string quartet reviews/suggestions. We've found ourselves in sort of a bind here--I have been working with a very kind friend-of-a-friend who plays in the DSO and was *delighted* to put a string quartet together for our 12/29 wedding. Unfortunately, he is getting harder and harder to make contact with, so I'm really nervous and searching out other options. (Although thank goodness I haven't paid him anything yet!)

I checked out the quartets listed on the Vendors page, but there weren't many (Four Strings and Forte Strings). Any other suggestions? We had planned on all custom music (Foo Figters, One Republic, Hall & Oates). Thanks!

Texan Treasure used Forte Strings- and they were lovely! I think they could probably accommodate your non-traditional music requests- but they might need a bit more time (not sure how it works). I used Four Strings in Denton. I really loved working with David. I was happy with everything.

Serenata Strings is another one.

I used European Ensemble, and they were able to incorporate more modern songs for us (like most these days, I assume). We just had a duo, but they also can do a quartet.

Yes I used Forte Strings, and they actually played a Rolling Stones song for my entrance. It's $50 a song if it's not already in their repertoire, which was normal for all of the quartets I researched. They had a larger repertoire than most others though!

I have a teacher friend who performed at my wedding two and a half years ago. It was $100 per person in the quartet. They were great, played what I requested and played beautifully for our wedding. Let me know if you want her contact information.
