budget dresses

I looked at David's Bridal yesterday (1st time), and I think I found "the" dress, but I want to look other places as well.  Where do they sell elegant dresses for under $600?

i've heard more than a couple horror stories about ebay.  I would really research the seller and look through their feedback.  I would also make sure that if you get a dress that is poor quality, fits terribly, or is simply just different than you expected that you are willing to cut other aspects of your budget to buy a dress from DB or somewhere that you can physically see the dress before you purchase it.  I do think that there are plenty of good bargains out there on ebay, but there are also a few bad apples out there that can really ruin the experience.

I knew going into this that I wasnt going to get the Super amazing dress shopping experiance (you know - go to the amazing designer place where they feed you chamapgne and cake)...

I knew davids would probably have to be my place. I found "the dress" and it was even on sale for under 600.00

they were so nice to me and they OFFER everything in store. One stop shopping. It was a nice experiance. I couldnt be happier with the dress i picked.

Next week - first fitting! Good Luck!

I found a website, www.projectwedding.com that has dresses by price category. Maybe you could peruse the under $1000 and under $500 categories and see if any of those designers/brands are sold in the NW Ohio area?

Filenes Basement Running of the brides! Especially if you are a size 8ish-14ish. They have them in Columbus and Cleveland. I went to one in each location. You don't have to go and fight with everyone at 8am. I rolled in at 4pm and still tried 10 or so dresses on, in plus sizes even! You could go at noon and have a great selection. I don't know when the next ones are, but if still don't have a dress when they come up I would give it a shot!

I got mine from www.houseofbrides.com. I know this is bad, but I shopped at Gallippo's first then found the dress online for cheaper.  My dress was $1,200 at Gallippo's.  On the designer's website, the retail price of the dress was suggested at $700-$800.  I got it online for $545.  I would have bought it at Gallippo's if they had been anywhere close to the retail price, but I couldn't believe how much they had marked it up.
