The Chicory, The Foundry, Rosy's Jazz Hall - all in the warehouse district.
Or the Audubon Golf Clubhouse uptown.

All of the above are great ideas.  I second the Chicory (I'm biased since that's where my wedding was).  Of course, it would help to know what your budget is.

Right, your budget will narrow your options naturally... what is your budget? How many people are you inviting?

I've been to a formal event (not a wedding/ reception) at the Wax Museum. It was so cool. Definitely a lot of fun and the event seemed like it went flawlessly.

hey just realized that you double posted this one. well, here are my thoughts from your other post, just in case:

depending on your size, there are some places that might fit into your budget.

are you committed to the French Quarter? we checked out a bunch of places there before going with the Steamboat Natchez (it's stupid expensive, but it's gonna be awesome).

Arnaud's is right on Bourbon St and can accomodate groups of almost any size. Their pricing was quite reasonable. Most of their space is indoor (although there is balcony access).
Also check out Bourbon Vieux (it's a holding company with multiple locations at various prices).
We looked into Broussard's and Cafe Amelie because we loved their courtyards, but their service was not great. We're out of towners doing a destination wedding, so we needed someone who was going to be responsive.
Although we didn't check it out because it didn't quite fit our style, I've heard amazing things about the Audubon Tea Room.

    Good luck!

I was hoping to keep my budget at 50 a head because there will more than likely be  300 people.

50 a head might be tough depending on what you're including in that number.

if you're just trying to include catering/location costs, you can make it work. even if you're adding in cake. just beware of cake cutting fees, tax/tip, and other charges that can add up on you behind your back.

300 is a really big number and the french quarter is full of lots of small places. be sure that the venue knows about your numbers and price range and ask for a per capita quote up front along with an over all estimate. Most places can give you a pre-set menu option without any hesitation, which is nice...

i forgot to mention The Riverview Room before. it's in the jackson brewery right there on the mississippi. the pictures up there would be awesome.

I picked House of Blues for my unique, budget friendly New Orleans vibe.
