Cake Tasting

Im at work but hubby to be is off. He's going to check out some bakeries. I told him he cant do it alone.. he siad he just wants to feel like he's doing something and get an idea of things. UGH! I want him to participate but I dont want him making any decision without me. I know he wont but I want us to go together. HMPH!

Re: Cake Tasting

  • This truly seems like a non-issue. Cake is cake. Unless he has a history of making bad decisions, what's the harm?

But if you really want to go with him for this, but he wants to participate why don't you just say, "Hey, FI, I really want to be a part of the cake tasting too. I know you really want to get the ball moving on wedding stuff, so perhaps you could help out with X, Y, Z instead. I really trust your opinion on that type of stuff plus it wouldn't keep from from delicious cake!"
  • Complete non-issue.  I really don't see the harm in him checking out a few bakeries to help narrow down the field before you and him make a decision.  Just let him have some fun.  It is his wedding to and he should be allowed to check out vendors whenever he wants.  As long as he doesn't book the baker without your approval then what is the issue?

  • Couldnt you just get him to bring you part of the cake home?  So you can taste it.  As for the design, you can get an idea of the caliber of the baker by looking at their website.  All the design of the cake can be done via email.
