Freaking out about this damn Vista Suite!

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do to help alleviate my concerns?  Maybe I should book a service with the hotel?  We have hired Masterpiece to do food and bar, so I'm not sure what other service might be available and/or neccessary at this point.
I would be willing to change the location, but it's going to be a bit of a pain to get my guests from Mandalay to another hotel.  Everyone has already booked to stay there.
SIGH...

I'm freaking out too. I've emailed the Orleans to request a tour of the stardust suite ASAP.....I just don't want to worry about this. I hope the Mandalay suite issues don't get worse, my wedding is a year away and I'm concerned that they will have totally cracked down on brides with this

Try TheHotel suites!  It's cheaper for us to have there than the Stardust.

I'm having mine in the visat suite and I'm not concerned anymore. My wedding coordinator has done everything she can to make sure we get our room, so I just have to have faith that's enough. I spoke with Scott at masterpiece about this a couple months ago and be said the concerns about noise complaints or your suite being given away can happen at any hotel the only reason you hear so many about the vista suite is because it is the one used most often. He said he does so many wedding receptions in there if we've only heard a handful of bad reviews that's pretty good, cause of course everywhere is going to have some bad reviews along th way. And if on the wedding day things don't work out with our reception we'll be ok we'll just go to margaritaville or something and our guests won't hold it against us and most important we'll still all be having s great time and we'll be married! I guess at this point I'm kinda over stressing about wedding planning and ready to just go with the flow.

There's been several recent incidents of supposed noise complaints resulting in visits by security or, worst case, being asked to vacate the suite.  There's a theory that these 'complaints' are more likely to occur if you're not using MB's services for the food/drink/etc.

There's also been a recent issue of a Vista booked well in advance not being available on check in day and a lesser suite being the only replacement option.  This hasn't happened to anyone who booked it as part of a package through the chapel just fyi.

My reception will be in the Vista suite. I too worried for a bit. I am just over it now. I even just printed my invites. So there is no going back now!

Hiring a tour bus is actually quite painless, especially if everybody is being picked up and then dropped off at the same location.

Same!  I have Jaimie as a coordinator and she has told me that there is nothing major going on in the hotel on that weekend and they have made it clear to the front desk that Vista Suites booked for weddings should not be given away...they have done everything they can so I have just taken a deep breath and feel...what happens...happens...I won't be happy...but that's not going to ruin my day!!

Thanks everyone, for your input and suggestions.
I am worrying that because we are not having our wedding at MB that they will try to either kick us out or not have our room ready to check into.
I understand that there have been many receptions at the hotel and in the Vista suite and Scott has assured me that this issue is not really an issue, but I guess I just want everything to go smoothly. :)
Sara, I am going to call THE Hotel now to see what the price difference is.
Thanks again everyone!  Will keep you posted.

    UPDATE:

H Suites are booked up for that night, so I spoke to the res agent about our current Vista reservation.  After being transferred a couple of times, I got the Manager of the Front Desk, Brandie (sp?).  I explained my concerns about not being able to check-in, past brides problems, etc.  She responded by "blocking" the room.  According to Brandie, the room is now blocked, therefore can't be given to anyone else.  Not sure how much I trust this is true, or how much better I feel about things, but at least I got a bit further along in the process.

Fellow Vista suite brides, maybe you should phone MB Res and request the same?  Don't think it would hurt!

I will make sure to let everyone know what happens when we check-in!

We used the Vista Suite for our wedding reception and there were NO problems what so ever.  It was absouletly perfect and seamless actually and we were using it during the weekend of the Billboard Music Awards.  I think the issues that have come up have been a fluke and it is true that these types of issues are going to happen at any hotel and we just hear about the ones at MB because of its popularity.  You just need to have faith... but I am sure it will work out for each of you! :)

Just FYI on TheHotel- there are other suites similar to the H (the O,T,E,L are all similar, just a bit larger). We had our reception in the L and it was amazing. I'm not sure your budget, but we looked at the Vista and Media and loved the L. Just an idea. Also TheHotel party suites are typically all together on floors (at least the L's are), which is an advantage since they are not next to basic hotel sleeping rooms.
