SCARED for my Bachelorette Party!

I am starting to freak out fro my bachelorette party! We have 16 girls going to Vegas in a couple weekends. I have my college friends, high school friends and FSIL and family friends coming. I used to party pretty hard back until a couple years ago. I don't go out at all like I used to. I'm terrified I am gonig to be fed numerous shots (I don't do shots, unless they are yummy ones) and throw up and pass out, lol. Now I'll have a few glasses of wine or stick to vodka/sodas when I go out. Anyone have any advice or tricks how to make it look like I'm drinking, but not actually take all the shots given to me? Haha! I know there will be random guys buying me shots left and right and don't know what I'm going to do! lol

  • LOL, this is funny.  At my bach party I would take the shots handed to me and when no one was looking I poured them out -- I hate shots...lol

    girl, it's a marathon, not a sprint!!

I feel you - I used to be able to drink beers and shots all night long in college and be fine, but now I am tipsy after two glasses of wine.  For recent bachelorette parties I just have to pace myself, mix waters in between with drinks, eat a solid meal before you start drinking at all, and STAY AWAY FROM SHOTS!

Tell your friends that as much as you appreciate them, you need to stick to beer or a mixed drink or whatever it is that you are drinking because you wanna have fun all night long and that shots will kill you. They will understand. This is what we do for brides to make sure they have a long night of fun.

One night when I was out with my fiance, I ran into my high school boyfriend's fiance...it was her bachelorette party. We ended up hanging with her, and my fiance bought her three tequila shots. She barfed an hour later and had to go home at midnight. OOPSIE ;) you don't want that happening to you, it was a horrible night for her (but i thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing, even though I ended up getting sick too, since I had taken the shots with her....)
  • PS when I have wanted to give shots to people in the past, I have asked the bartender for "one shot of tequila and one shot of water". I have done this multiple times. it's mean, but works wonders, hahaha. my fiance did it this past weekend and I was so proud of him.
  • Just make sure you have a glass of water for each shot you take!

    In case you do get hungover, my remedy is;

    -Emergen-C
    -Two advil
    -Two tums

My bachelorette party was this past weekend and I was worried about getting sh*t faced. I just made sure I drank a ton of water throughout the night. I also didn't drink in between the shots and things that I was getting.

  • I'm worried about this because I also can't hold my liquor anymore and I'm trying to lose 8 more pounds before my wedding. All of the drinks and shots are just wasteful calories for me. Is it lame if I just nurse a red bull and decline shots? My bachelorette party is only a week before my wedding and I don't need to be bloated or hungover right beforehand. lol
  • Always have a drink in your hand! So nobody can offer you more drinks. Drink slowly or just carry it around with you. I do that all the time, I hate it when people push me to drink more.

Don't be afraid to say no. You know your limit and I hope your friends will respect that :) There is no way in hell I'd let people shove drinks in my face.

  • I've poured shots on the ground when no one was looking before. I think it's probably harder when you're a bride at a bachelorette party though because everyone is looking at you.

I agree with eating full meals while you're there, drinking lots of water, and just trying to hold your ground on the no shot rule. Good luck :)

  • Lots of great advice so I will just throw in one piece to help you feel better the next day...take some Vitamin B12!  It really works amazingly well.  Helped me never have a hangover in college (unless i drank an entire bottle of tequila or something crazy). :)  Have a blast.  I plan to avoid taking shots for the most part.  I dont have a problem telling my friends no :)  Oh and the beer before liquor never sicker, liquor before beer you're in the clear thing is actually true!

  • I totally pour shots on the floor. All the time, actually. I don't drink shots anymore. I actually can't even believe the stuff I used to drink in college - Shots of 151? Are you serious? How did I not die?

I am also worried about my bach party, but I told my MOH to keep track of my drinking if I wasn't doing so. She knows me well enough to know when I'm getting too drunk so I trust her. I also am just literally going to drink water whenever possible. I am such a lightweight that 2 drinks makes me pretty tipsy now.

  • Ha my advice is the complete opposite! Start drinking tough until your B party! HAHA just kidding.

Double fist it all night, a drink it one hand and a glass of water in the other. I don't think you'll be able to get by declining/pouring out shots as well as you're hoping. You're defiantly within your right to tell your girls that shots are a no no and to help keep the random drinks from you.

Also, pillsburyaj had some good advice as far as things to help with the hangover but I'd suggest Ibuprofen instead of advil since I think advil is acetaminophen which is awful for you if you drink. Also, take a vitamin before you go to bed.
