Sitting here waiting on dinner!

Whats up?

H made beef stew and he putting bread in the oven, should be eating soon! Yum.

Just finished cleaning out another 4 cabinets today. Only about 3 more to go then on to the pantries.

WFD? Whats up?

I see Meagh stopped by!

  • i just put H's breakfasts for the week in the oven, finished my paper with 50 minutes to spare (tons of time!), we moved the grill to it's winter location, and now i'm contemplating making up some fruit smoothies prior to Once Upon a Time coming on.

You are too energetic for me. I spent most the day in bed dozing between Lord Of the Rings.

[QUOTE]Hi. I'm waiting to go to dinner. Visiting FIL in Sonona and did some wine tasting and I encourage everyone to buy some Sojourn wine. Everything I tried was amazing. Anna always makes me feel like a slacker. I'm pretty sure I might be considered lazy by most, but I'm ok with that.

Totally jealous of your wine tasting.  I wanna go!

<div>Don't feel like a slacker.  I'm just hyperactive and don't know how to properly enjoy doing nothing.  I can't even take a long bath without reading or doing something.  I just go stir-crazy</div>
  • I made a chicken/broccoli/mushroom stir fry, served over spaghetti squash with an olive oil/herb drizzle. I usually serve it over pasta, but wanted to try the squash. FI and DD prefer it with pasta - oh well. It was my first time using spaghetti squash. I liked it, and would do it again.

Now we're enjoying a quiet evening on the couch and have called a truce. I'm going to work on my mood (and I got the vit D, btw, so we'll see if it helps) and he's going to be more empathetic.

    How's the stew, kd?

  • I took two burgers out to thaw and I"ll probably have veggies and cream cheese with it, and maybe some potato chips.    I've been mostly lazy all day, but I did bake some herb crusted chicken "tenders" (breasts cut in half) this afternoon before I took a nap.  I'm contemplating going to take a bath and shave before The Amazing Race comes on.  H has been sleeping all afternoon, but he worked from about 10 last night until about 1 this afternoon so I guess he needs it.

  • I'm craving beef stew and chili.  Must be fall.

We got home at 8am from last night's football game.  It was very cold, but fun to see DH's friend, and to see his son play.  (the friend's son, not SSon).

We went for a hike, bought some fresh roasted chiles, then grilled chicken breasts and smothered them in giant slabs of chile.  Yum.  Now we're watching football and I'm waiting for my bread to come out of the oven.  I think my tomatoes survived the hard freeze, so I'm happy to leave them on the vine for another week until they ripen.

  • We had lunch really late, so I'm not even starting dinner yet. Chicken fettuccini is on the menu, though. :)

I'm working on dications (what else?), and I am so glad DH is playing a video game. I'm not distracted by him watching TV like I normally am, so I'm moving through them really fast. Yay!

    You talkin' 'bout my chicken???

The olive oil mixture on top is what makes it awesome.

    2 tbsp butter (melted)
    2 tbsp olive oil

    add:
    -dash pepper
    -thyme
    -rosemary
    -paprika
-crushed chilies (as hot as you want)
    -soya sauce
    -worcestershire sauce

There are no exact measurements, just add as much as you like. It's awesome over chicken and pasta, and I really enjoyed the squash.

I'm eating a cheeseburger, veggies and cream cheese (garden vegetable spread) and a couple of potato chips just for something crunchy.
