Are you asking about stores that have plus-sized gowns?  I know girls have specifically asked about this in the past and gotten a lot of recommendations.

I got my dress at Betsy Robinson's in Pikesville and I thought the customer service was excellent.  I know they have a selection of larger gowns, but I'm not sure how extensive it is.  I think it would be worth calling them to see.

Gamberdella's (in Towson, I think) also gets really good reviews on this board.  Again,  you can call and ask about their selection of sample sizes.

I have heard that David's Bridal has a lot of larger gowns to try on, but I hear mixed reviews on their service so you may want to ask about specific locations or look on Wedding Wire.

    good luck!

I got mine from Amanda Ritchey Bridal in Bel Air, MD.  It may be a bit far for you, but they were so nice.  They also do "Champagne Sundays" where you can schedule a private appointment and have the whole boutique to yourself.  Amanda is really friendly and wants to make sure you get the right dress, not just for the sale.

The Davids Bridal in Bowie, has a nice selection of plus sized gowns and they are extremely helpful and polite. I bought mine there and I not only needed a plus size but extra length too.

I got my dress in Newark, DE at Brides and Grooms. They had the largest selection I had seen. I wasn't too impressed by any of the stores in the Baltimore area that I went to. I was looking for a specific designer and the store in Newark was a carrier of the designer. They have all different designers and their staff is so caring and kind. Also, there is no sales tax!!! Bonus!! I know this is the Baltimore board and we are all from Maryland/Baltimore but this store has been so exceptional I really just want to tell everyone about it!!

My Mom as well as my bridesmaids all got their gowns there too and received 15% off since I bought my dress there.

    Hope this helps.

I found my gown at DB, but I drove all the way to Wilmington, DE because the store was far less of a zoo than Glen Burnie and my consultant, Terri was great!!  (and I got my gown TAX FREE!!)

Good luck dress shopping.  I hope you chose to go to Gamberdella's.  They are amazing and i don't know if budget is an issue for you, but they really listen to you and take things like alterations into account when they are puling dresses in your price range.
