Workout Accountability: Thursday

Morning ladies!  How was everyone's holiday?

Eating was TERRIBLE for me yesterday.  Sweet tooth-1, Me-0.  I avoided the chips, which was my plan, but they also decided it would be funny to cut up Krispie Kremes into bite sized pieces as a dish, which I devoured.  I also overdid it on the desserts a bit.  
So, I'm up two lbs today and went straight for the ice water and kenpo this morning.  Today and tomorrow will be very healthy eating, and I need to come up with a better willpower plan for Saturday and Sunday when we're in the city.

Workout out is on track, with kenpo this AM, then a double day tomorrow (cardio then chest/shoulders/triceps and abs), and an off day on Saturday, though we'll be walking all over the city.  My goal for the rest of the week/weekend at this point is just to get the scale back to where it was before the weekend.

  • I ate a really big brownie yesturday, but I ate only veggies, and one egg with my chicken sandwhich on a whole grain gf bun. I also ran over 11 miles almost 12 that morning so I dont think a big brownie is going to kill me especially since it took till after dinner for me to not feel like a ravenous starved animal.

    Today is recovery 45-60 minutes on the bike trainer. Tomorrow will be a rest day before my brick saturday. 70.3 you are on my radar I will have you. Soon I will be Ironman!

    Lobsters I was starting to get concerned-I logged in to TK and saw no thursday thread haha.  holidays are brutal for staying on track, I think you have a good mind set to be a little pissed at yourself but know that all you have to do is pick yourself up and get back at it.  I'm sure with extra water and walking and all that jazz you will be fine by next week.

    Last night was another rest day-my ankle really needed it anyways. We met and booked our DJ! (nice to check it off the list)  Tonight I am going back for spin or pump depends on what time I can make it to the gym.

  • I did really good eating but bad working out.  It's been so HOT and I've only been wanting to run....so I haven't done anything this week except 7 miles on Tuesday.  FI and I leave at 3:30 today to head up north to visit his family for 4 days.  It will be tough because his mom doesn't listen when we say we're trying to be healthy.  She does things like stock the cabinet with peanut m&ms (My kryptonite) and orders loaded baked potato pizzas (my other kryptonite lol).  So I brought running clothes and shoes and I'm hoping to get at least a few 3 mile runs in just to make me feel a little better.  I'm going to try my hardest to stick with MFP.

  • Mornin. Chest and cardio this morning followed by a 3 mile run. Compared to the 2 mile run I did 3 weeks ago, I clocked in at the same time, so yay for improvement! The worst thing I had yesterday was one beer. We went to see fireworks at night but I spent all day doing laundry and cleaning. Tonight is date night though, and my cheat meal. I've decided on a plate of wings with blue cheese and going to do my best to avoid the scale tomorrow morning. Lobsters, I went up 2lbs on my trip the other week and it was gone in less than two days. It's good that you got to enjoy your holiday rather than be miserable over what you're not supposed to eat.
  • Good morning!

    Tuesday night I got 25 minutes on the stairmaster and 35 minutes on the elliptical with an added bonus of 20 minutes of weightlifting. I cut my workout a bit shorter than I wanted so I would have enough time to get home and spray paint our wedding arch before the sun set.

    Yesterday I managed to not overeat and mostly had good for me foods (one of our friends came over for dinner and had made homemade dark chocolate brownies - we ate them with fruit and cool whip!). I also got 90 minutes on my stationary bike and we played a couple holes of disk golf (the humidity was crazy bad, so the FI didn't want to keep playing while buckets of sweat were pouring off of him).

    I'm super tired this morning because we were up late setting off fireworks. Tonight is supposed to be a gym night, but I'm scheduled to meet with the foster child I'm doing an art project with, so I doubt I'll have time for the gym.

  • FI and I just decided to stay home together yesterday. We have been so busy moving me into FI's house and doing stuff for the wedding we really just needed some downtime together. So I was able to keep my eating in check yesterday. I got in a really good work out too. Three miles at the gym and shoulders and arms. I upped my weight for my shoulders and tris yesterday and I am feeling the burn today. Work out fail for me this morning since my neighbor was setting off fireworks until almost 1am. Hopefully I can get a good one in tomorrow.

    Tonight two of my aunts, FSIL, & FMIL are coming over to stuff wedding invitations!!

  • We didn't do arms/abs and itnerval training last night as planned because friends of ours recently started the weight loss/healthy lifestyle journey too.  So we offered to go for a walk with them for a change of company.  So we went for an hour long walk, but it was an easy one for us, but quite difficult for them.  So it was a nice chit chatty stroll....better than nothing. 

    Today is our usual walk during our lunchbreak.  Tonight will most definitely be treadmill intervals for 30-45 minutes, but we have a hectic evening again, so that could be fake promises.  

    Tomorrow is our rest day

  • Yesterday I decided to rest and not work out. I also didn't do that good food wise my weakness was the wine at the BBQ. I enjoyed myself with my friends so I'm not too upset about it. Today I will be biking home from work as I left my bike there on Tuesday. Need together readyow to catch the bus.

  • Yesterday was aweful for me. I had to work outside in the heat most of the day. I had planned to eat my breakfast bar on the way and bring fruit for a mid-morning snack, but forgot the fruit, so I was starving by lunch, which was 2 slices of Papa Johns. Still not too, bad because I was helping to tear down a shed and carting the bits to a dumpster. What killed me was dinner. We didn't get home until 7 and I was so hungry I was almost feeling sick. FI and I went to Miller's Ale House and I ordered the turkey buger and sweet potatoe fries without bother to log on to MFP and check the calories. I figured a turkey burger would not be too bad, but later found out Iate an 800 calorie sandwhich + the fries.  I also had slightly less than 1/2 of an ice-cream cake dessert. Had a eated the whole thing, I think it still would have been less calories than that damned sandwich. Hopefully back on track today....

  • Morning!
    Yesterday I ate ok, again probably not as much as I should have for the amount of energy I've been putting out, stupid heat.  There was a bbq at my FI's parents' house, I had forgotten it was a pool party and was having a really bad self-image day and the thought of putting on a bathing suit made me miserable (I went with the 'everything is still packed' excuse). Thankfully our time there was inturrupted by our friend with the truck who got off work early and was able to help us move the last of our furniture. We are finally officially MOVED!! Today my exercise will consist of unpacking and cleaning for my mom who is visiting this weekend, I haven't seen her in months and I'm really looking forward to her visit. She tends to eat super healthy so I don't think I'll have much issue with pigging out this weekend :)  I'm Hoping to get this living room in some kind of functional shape so I can get on the Wii and see how I'm doing.  I woke up this morning feeling MUCH better about what I was seeing in the mirror, stuff is fitting much better today :)

  • Lobsters, I'm right there with you on the 2 pound gain this morning!

    I was a champ on Wednesday and, when FI suggested meeting friends for dinner at our favorite brew pub, I ran home and got in an extra 30 min. of elliptical (on top of the 30 min. I did in the morning). I also resisted the beer and went for my new favorite summer drink: vodka and seltzer. By the time we were seated and it was time to order it was nearly 8:30 PM and I was ravenous. The veggie burger on multigrain bread wasn't what put me over, though... it was the onion rings I ordered as a side!

    Yesterday started off really well with a 6 mile hike. But then we went to a BBQ and things quickly deteriorated. Hence the 2 lb. gain.  I'm back at it this morning, though. I did 15 min. on the elliptical, level 3 of 30DS, and tonight we have a dance lesson.

  • @K - you simply must stick around! We want to hear how everything is going :) and yes we will keep you accountable for staying in shape!

    I failed at eating more yesterday. I WILL today. I HAVE to get up to 1500 today for sure. It does get hard to increase cals after eating low a few days (intentionally or unintentionally), I gotta say!

    Not going to have time for a run today, so while I'm at work tonight I'm going to run up and down the 4 flights of stairs as often as possible to get a bit of cardio in!

  • The last two days were not good on eating- I had lasagna on Tuesday and got into the desserts yesterday. Got a good upper-body workout from stocking cases of beer in the coolers during the festval in town.. 
    Today I will do another BBL workout, gotta get the motivation up!

  • I completed one hour of personal training this morning and I have a healthy day of eating planned. Next Thursday is my official 2nd weigh-in/measurement/pinch test with my PT so I have a pretty intense week planned starting today - with lots of workouts planned. I am kind of excited to see what changes have happend over the last three weeks!

    Did pretty well yesterday - but did go out for dinner with FI and his parents - only up 1 pound that I hope is just bloating. 
  • Oh Lord, yesterday my family decided to get the $10 Dinner Box from Pizza Hut. YIKES! lol, the Cinnasticks were AMAZING, though. I did get my C25K workout in yesterday morning, too. Got another C25K workout to do tonight and FI and I have a dance lesson tonight, so that will be a little bit of extra. Possibly will do one of my DVDs afterward once I get home. Ate Smart Ones Ravioli Florentine for lunch today with some watermelon. My first fitting is in 3 weeks, so need to stay motivated and on track! :-)

  • I've totally fallen off the wagon lately.  :(  It's been hot so all I've done is sweat in my house.  FI's home this week so I am unmotivated to hit the gym (I could walk if not for the air quality action days, grrrr).  I ate a lot of fruit yesterday but I also grazed on Sun Chips and had two beers and two glasses of wine (which, oddly enough, didn't even make me tipsy).  Today wasn't bad until I just ate three mini cupcakes because they were melting and they looked really good.  Ugh.  

    I'm going to really try my best for the rest of the day...maybe try some arm exercises if I can't do cardio.  It's hard when you have breathing issues!  We're going camping this weekend and I know I'll be eating junk so I just need to try and avoid major gain.

  • Hope you all had a wonderful holiday!!

    I ate okay yesterday...I didn't have any "real" meals...but I did eat a whole avocado with some tortilla chips (not the best...but I'm sure it was that avocado that made me stay full for so long.) But given that it was a holiday, I did ok. Went to the movies and got a vegan cookie (Oh California, I love you!!) which was great.

    Today I went to the gym...ran 2 miles and then fit in 2 sets of weights (wished I could have done 3 but had to go to work. Boo.) I am feeling good and sort of want to do something tonight physically...since tomorrow is my rest day. Have been eating well all day too.

    Also, random question...do you ladies weigh yourselves every day??
  • My first accountability post here, you guys all rock! 

    Today I worked out with my trainer and we did a full body work out with lots of lunges, dead lifts and squats. I was super excited because we did chest press also, and I was up from last time we lifted. After that I did a brisk 30 minute walk, but I did not run since I was so sore after my workout. 

    After we went to the gym, the fiance and I made turkey burgers and veggies for dinner!

    You guys are all so awesome with your workouts, truly inspiring.

  • I weigh myself every day too - and only record it one day per week (for me, that's Saturday). I don't think it's a big deal either, I just like to see how certain exercises/foods/times of the month affect my water retention! It can be fascinating - but also detrimental if you take the number every day too seriously and become obsessed. Your brain is a powerful thing!
