Floral Costs

We are having a small wedding party - 3 attendants on each side and probably 2 ushers. Is $500 too small of a budget for flowers for our wedding? I understand that corsages for the mothers and grandmothers, readers, personal attendant will also need to be purchased, along with bouts for dad/stepdad and grandfathers.

In all honesty, flowers aren't a huge deal to me. I don't need super extravagant or expensive flowers. I have been browsing on pinterest and realized that if it's within our color scheme, it looks nice.

Any floral vendors you can recommend? I have no desire to DIY my own bouquets. Farmers market seems like a good idea, but I don't want to rush the day before or day of and worry if they'll have something that will work.

Any and all tips are appreciated. If you have pictures of flowers from your own wedding and are comfortable sharing prices that would be great too!

My sister used Sweet Pea floral in Woodbury and was really happy with them. She said they did a really good job of working within her budget and making recommendations.

I'm doing etsy flowers so I can't give you specifics from my own experience, sorry.

I'm actually using fake flowers made from birchwood shavings. I too am not big on flowers for the most part so that's why I chose fake since I just can't justify the cost of real flowers. Also, I'd like to go as green as I can. My bouquet was $60 including shipping and insurance.

I have pictures of them in my planning bio if you'd like to see them :-)

We are using Michele from Custom Floral Designs out of Andover. She has been ABSOLUTELY wonderful. I had no idea what I wanted for flowers and within twenty minutes she had designed something so beautiful!
My bouquet is filled with roses and hydrangias with rhinestone wrap on the stems- 125 (with a free toss bouquet)
    The girls bouquets- 52 each
    Bouts- 8 each
    corsages- 14 each
We werent planning on having flowers at our guest book, cake table, etc but she came up with this beautiful design we couldn't pass up! She also offered to set up all the flowers at the church/reception and help with other little details we didn't even think about.
Good luck and have fun with it!

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Lisa from Forget me not floral and events!  She will get you what you need in your budget!  She is awesome and the BEST person to work with!  I would at least give her a shot!

We are having my boquet, 4 bridesmaids, somewhere around 15-20 bouts (wedding party, and people involved in our ceremony), a memorial vase, possibly a few pew decorations, and flowers at every table at our reception and we are under $1000 by quite a bit.

Not everyone wants to spend this much, but it's what we wanted and I don't think it can be beat.  She is also setting up our tables, the pew decor and will help pin those dreaded bouts! Laughing

I have the same number of attendants as you do and my floral budget is $350, although I'm not getting married in the metro area so prices are cheaper in rural MN. $500 is very doable, especially if you only want to focus on people's flowers and do non-floral or very few flowers in decorations.

I can also tell you that if you pick colors that you like instead of specific flowers it can help save money. A good florist knows what's in season, so they can get the best prices.
