For those that didn't or won't have a DOC

Are there any tips or organizational templates for those totally doing it all on their own? I'm thinking that I can't afford a DOC and I'm only going to have about 3 vendors so I feel like with some good advice I can manage on my own. Did anyone just have family helping out on the big day?

Our caterer is functioning as a DOC for the reception and the church has a lady who will coordiante the ceremony for ours.  Have you checked with any of your vendors to see if they can help out with that?  Neither are charging us any extra.  I bet if you had a reliable family member, that would work too! Good luck!

If you are a crazy organized person and have reliable family/friends you should be able to pull this off. I didn't have a DOC and everything went very smoothly...then again, I'm pretty sure I have a mild case of OCD which worked in my favor. I made a wedding timeline and assigned my family and wedding party to one or two "tasks" or responsibilities for that day. (I'm sure they all thought I was crazy). I also made sure to make contact with each of my vendors a few days before to confirm the time that they would be arriving at the venue. My dad was in charge of making sure each of them showed up on time. Luckily I had really good vendors so we had no problems. My wedding party was also really small, so you don't need that many people. I would advise that you pick your vendors wisely, though. Good luck!
