I am so NOT good at DIY projects and am totally stressed about invites. I don't want to spend a lot of money on them but don't think DIY would be worth my insanity. I looked on the cards and pockets website and love how little and compact the invites are with all the cute pockets. The website was a little confusing is that all DIY? Someone please help!!!

However, if you still want to choose to go with the DIY route but not drive yourself crazy you also have a few options but it'll take a bit more work.
- Try Vistaprint. They have some great sales if you sign up for their mailing list. All you need is to design your cards and have them print them for you. I've heard so much great things about them you can't go wrong. Then you can go to cardsandpockets.com and buy the pocketfolds or paper or whatnot to put everything together.
You can even have cardsandpockets.com print them for you if you like. There are plenty of girls here who used either Vistapring or cardsandpockets.com to make their invites I am sure they are more than willing to help!
- Try Michael's. They have some great sales on blank wedding invitations lately, normally you can get 30 or so for about $25 dollars (but depends on the design). If you can get your hands on a 40% off coupon you can get them cheaper!

my invites are going to be 1/2 DIY and 1/2 made. I was so turned off of thinking of doing all the printing and cutting myself so this was the best affordable option.
Also the cutcardstock site can do custom cuts for you - so you don't have to sit there and handcut 100 pieces of cardstock to fit your invite.
And FYI, the sizes on 123print are not really conducive to the pocketfold sizes.
My invitation from 123print is 5 1/8 x 7 ~ which was a little too wide for the 5 x 7 pocketfolds. I ordered the A9 size which has the middle panel at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2. I am putting a piece of cardstock measuring at 5 1/4 x 8 1/4 in the middle panel of the pocketfold and am placing the invite on the cardstock so theres room enough at the top to tie a ribbon around the cardstock piece to put something in the blank space.
Heres a pic of the mockup - the colors are not exact. Cutcardstock sent a sample of the pocketfold in brown and a piece of the pink to show the colors. The ribbon is not the right color either.
So in closing I will have to tell you that even 1/2 DIY took a lot of figuring out but in the end saved a lot of $$$. My invites were quoted at over $6 each. I will be able to do my whole paper budget - programs, menus, escort cards, favor tags, etc. for the cost of the invites alone.
Hope this helps a little. and ps. I am not a DIY girl in the least! But there are great resources online and you can google videos to show you how to do almost anything! I used a video online to learn how to do the flat bow on the middle panel!

I spent a lot of time on the DIY board during my planning process and a lot of the girls on there talked about Cards & Pockets so I checked it out. I figured out what design and colors I wanted and went from there. I even lucked out and ordered a bunch of my supplies during their 20% off sale. Basically all I did was design my invitation and inserts in MS Word and converted it to a PDF and sent them the file and they did all my printing. All I had to do was assemble everything with double sided scotch tape. I was surprised by how easy it was and I just worked on 5-10 each night after dinner while watching tv.
It's totally up to you, but I'm so glad I did because I saved a lot of money and got so many compliments when people found out I made them.
