All inclusive honeymoon resorts HELP!

I'm looking for a all inclusive resort with a budget of 3,000 for my David and I. If you have been to or know of a good one in the central America or Mexico area I would be much obliged if you would refer me to them. Thanks!

Re: All inclusive honeymoon resorts HELP!

  • I have always heard that if you can't afford to go on a honeymoon then you shouldn't. I think the whole concept of honeymoon registries are so tacky. It isn't like a regular registry, which is supposed to help you get started with your new life. This is asking people to pay for what is essentially a vacation. I said this on another post today, but FI and I are both students and are working overtime every chance we get so that we can afford the honeymoon that we want to go on. Best of luck with your decision!

  • Do what you want, a lot of people today set up the honeymoon fund.  If you wait to go on a honeymoon, it might just turn into one of those things you continually push back.
Don't go to Puerto Vallarta, go to Cabo or Cancun.  The Princess resorts are very nice, as is the Paradise Cancun (I believe that's the name).  Go to tripadvisor.com and look up the hotels.  That's how I always choose hotels, it gives you the best perspective.
  • I generally like HM registries, but only if you can afford to go on it without any help.  Think about it, most people aren't going to give gifts until your wedding day anyways and you need to already have your HM booked AND paid for by then.  Even if you have the actual travel and hotel arrangements made, you should be able to afford all the food and activities you want as well, what happens when no one gives you any money?  You'd be at your HM with nothing to do...

If you still really want to do one, many AI resorts actually have their own HM registry, but they charge a fee just like most others.  Honeyfund.com is free if they cut you a check once (again, another reason it's good to be able to afford everything on your own beforehand).

  • I don't personally like HM registries. Like pp said, the point of registering is to help a new couple set up their home. If you want financial help, then don't register at all. People will get the hint and give you monetary gifts that you can use at your discretion. HM registries are seen as kind of selfish.

  • try Melia Cabo Real, my friend honeymooned there and she loved it, trying to convince FI that it is better than a cruise.
  • This post just looks fishy to me in general. Honeymoon donations? Seriously? I'm not taking this bait....
