Hi ladies!Has anyone ever used Giant or safeway for their wedding cake?  We are on a tight budget for our cake but still wanted the traditional tiered wedding cake.  We were thinking we could do the small tiered cake, and then have sheet cakes for the rest of the guests!!  Any recommendations would be helpful.

    Call The Dancing Apron bakery.....her stuff is way better than a grocery store and her prices are reasonable.

     I used Safeway for our daughter's first birthday and it was only so-so.  It was too sweet and dry cake.  Most of it just got thrown away :( 
    Try http://nattycakes.net also does great cakes and has reasonable prices too.

    alot of bakers will do the sheet cakes exactly how your wedding cake is if you get the tiered cake. some have minimums but some dont. so whoever you get to do the tiered cake ask them if they will make it small but get them to do the sheet as well.
    you can try costco, we always use them for work cakes, and they are delicious. you could even have them do a wedding cake, i dont know the costs though.

    More specifically with your cake, we offer sheet cake options as well. We also offer large dummy cakes, with a bottom real cake for you to cut, and the rest in sheet cakes. Our sheet cakes will have the same layout as a wedding cake (three cake layers, 2 filling/mousse/custard/icing layers) 
    Our wedding cake slices start at $3.50 and out sheet cake slices start at $1.55
