I never met with any caterer except the one that came with the venue!!!  But.....

    Catering 1870
We are doing a seated dinner, and it's probably an average of $25 a person for salad and the meal. We are also doing hors douevres during cocktail hour. Those are expensive. (Seriously, why are these little bites of food so darn expensive!!!!).
Everyone who tried their Shrimp and Andoiulle Ravioli fell in love with it immediately. Apparently it is super delicious for people that like seafood. So, I'd suggest that for anyone going with The Ohio Union as their venue. Their chicken dish was only ok. The  vegeterian dish we are getting also sounds delicious (though we haven't tried it yet).

I don't think they do any catering outside of campus...and they may only cater to The Union. I'm not sure.

    Perfect Plate Catering (www.perfectplatecatering.com/)
$15 per head, buffet style including 2 entrees, 2 sides, salad and rolls
Went we went for our tasting I just got the feeling that they really cared about the quality of the food that they serve, plus everything was really good.  Two other things that I liked was that one they will provide enough entrees assuming everyone is going to have both and that either we can keep or they will donate any leftover food.
Favorite food: Garlic mashed potatoes, yummy, can't wait till my wedding. :)

    PC Events!

We booked them when they were running a promo last summer so it is costing $28/pp for:
    -hors d'oeuvres
    -buffet with two entrees
    -two sides, salad, and bread
    -all linens, china, and silverware
    -servers
    -cake cutting

My favorite part is that although they have suggested entrees, they will create anything you want!!  For example, they told us about a baseball-themed wedding that they are doing where they are cooking mini-burger sliders, fancy nachos, etc. and then bringing in cotton candy and an ice-cream bar!

Occasions by J&K (from Newark Ohio)

The platinum package s around $25 per person but that includes a buffet with 3 main courses, hot and cold apps,, china, linens, table bussing and cake cutting.

I love them because their food is sooo YUM!!!  And any extras aren't going to cost you an arm and a leg.  The have bartenders (2 for 5 hors for $100).  Plus what really sold me is that they will travel anywhere in Ohio for a mere $20 gas charge.  This was perfect since my wedding is 2 1/2 hours outside of Columbus.

It's a husband and wife team. They are super nice and great to work with.  I highly recommend them!!!!  Check out their website below.

For casual 'homestyle" sort of meals, I recommend Der Dutchman!  Prices per person for buffet can be between 13-17 dollars depending on what you're looking for but their food is awesome for someone like me.  I'm a low-key kind of girl and never liked an odd jelly sort of something in my chicken or an odd sort of crust on my pork loin.  The food there is what I think of as normal but it tastes incredible and isn't bland.  They also can provide linens and tableware.

It's perfect for my laid back/casual/ lunch reception!

Catering with Wendi. She can do either a sit down meal or buffett style (we chose buffett style) She is amazing food is really good and she was cheaper than any other I had contacted. She is working with me on decorations and everythihng. She can also provide linens, china etc......
Old Forty Tavern in Bexley is where she is now but I think she is in the Process of moving.
