Hey there

I can't think of any Tuesday questions.  I know, what's happened to me!??!  Hopefully someone else can think of some!

Anyway...how is everyone's Tuesday going?  Mine's dragging a little.  I'm feeling totally burnt out lately, and desperately want a few days off work.  I was recently informed that I haven't used my floating holiday this year, which was a total surprise to me.  So now I HAVE to take a day this month.  I've decided to take my floating holiday on Dec 26 so I can have 5 days off in a row.  Now I just need to get through the next few weeks.  I'm thinking about taking off a day in late Jan/early Feb, too, just to keep myself from going crazy!

Re: Hey there

  • yay to floating holidays!

i have my second training session tonight at 6.  i feel amazing on my new diet.  i still really crave junk, but i have so much energy and no bloating that it helps me stay the course and not eat bad stuff.  now i just hope the pounds come off.
  • Hello!  My day is dragging as well - I was out a little too late for a friend's birthday last night.  Sorry to hear things are crazy at work, but at least you'll get a long Christmas holiday!  That'll be really nice!
  • Calypso -- how's it going with laying off the wine lol?  That's always the hardest thing!

  • Calypso - what sort of diet are you doing?  Are you sticking to a specific plan, or just cutting out things/trying to eat healthier?  H and I have been trying to eat healthy for awhile now, but really struggle sticking to it.
  • I finished student teaching last week, so now I'm subbing.  Today I had my first official sub job, at a junior high school for a theater teacher.

I don't ever want to sub junior high kids again.  They have all the negative aspects of both elementary kids and high school kids.  *shudder*

Also, next monday i have an interview at a new Catholic high school nearby.  I'm beyond excited!  And nervous!

  • erin, im eating clean, sticking to 1400 calories per day, and working otu with a personal trainer.
  • Is that pretty much no packaged/processed foods?  That must be hard, but I'm sure it makes you feel a lot better!
  • just healthy - fruits, yogurts, lean protein, salads.  defintiely no processed food but i didnt eat much of that anyway.  the biggest thing was portions and snacks ( i love me some cheese!!) i was eating about 3500-4000 a day so taht's why my workouts were so useless.

i learned that a potassium deficiency makes you groggy.  now that ive upped that, i havent needed afternoon coffee!!

its easy at home, its harder to think ahead for what to pack for lunch.  but i have fridge in my office so that helps.  i wish i could bring a blender to work too but i think the noise would be problematic.  ;-)
  • Calypso- Aren't you hungry all the time? That is a HUGE calorie adjustment to make!
    Anniversary
  • im surprisingly not - although i have cravings for sure for stuff i used to eat.  by picking hte right foods, it really does stay with you - empty calories dont keep you full for long which is why you keep eating eating eating!

i feel so good - i have no desire for booze or heavy stuff like chinese or even pasta.

im spending alot at the grocery store for sure - but im not buying lunch or eating out dinner so i think im spending about equal.
