Downtown Detroit Venues

Hi ladies,

My FI and I are looking at Venues in Downtown Detroit. We are looking at the Gem Theater, the Colony Club and the Book Cadillac. Any other suggestions?

I am getting married at The Athenium Hotel in greektown. I would also suggest the Rattlesnake Club and The Rooster Tail.

We are getting married at the Detroit Yacht Club. You could also check out MGM and Motor City Casino. And, depending on your budget, the Fox Theatre now does weddings as long as you're not getting married during theatre season. Masonic Temple is also an option. From pictures, their ballroom looks gorgeous, but they are located in a less than stellar area as far as parking for guests.

I'm sure the Fillmore does weddings as well, and there's also Comerica Park. The Detroit Athletic Club is an option if you have a connection to a member. I think you can get married at the Detroit Public Library and depending on the size, the Scarab Club (in midtown) could also be a cool venue.

Her site really helped me get started on my venue search, although I ended up going a slightly different route. We are going a bit more "raw"- ceremony is on the roof of the Park Shelton, reception is at the T Plex (the original Model T plant in Detroit).

You can also try The Charles H. Wriight Museum they do weddings and the Detroit Regis Hotel on the Blvd.

Our reception is going to be at 42 Degrees north at the Detroit Marriott in the Ren Cen. It's a couple thousand cheaper than the ballrooms at the Ren Cen with a gorgeous view.
