NWR: Renters Insurance

Hey ladies,

I moved down to Miami a few months ago, and my boyfriend and I are looking for renters insurance. We have car insurance through USAA (military), but they don't do renters insurance in Florida.

Who do you use, and how much do they cost? Any opinions? Any company to avoid?

I do not use renters insurance but some places do require it...any insurance company that sells home owners has it and its about $175 for the year... HTH..

my apartment community mandates renters insurance. I used Assurance. I believe it's 118 a year.

We used to use Assurance before we got our house. I think it was about $115 a year.

Mine is through State Farm... it's not really state farm though... it's a company they use... I don't remember the name but I got it through my state farm agent.

Can't find Assurance's website, and State Farm's website says they don't do it (thus probably the third party they recommended?), as does Progressive and Geico. No one does renters insurance in Florida!!!
