Pre-wedding Parties

1 Year Until Wedding Party Ideas :D

Hey girls!

March 26 is our 1 year and 3 months anniversary but it's also our 1 year until wedding date...

I would like to throw a little party for the two of us, kind of like an opposite wedding day.
I'll make a cake and put the B&G upside down but that's all the ideas I got! haha

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks so much :)

Uh...not trying to be rude, but that's kind of weird to me.
Why not just make it a regular engagement party or something? I think the cake and upsidedown bride and groom is a little odd.

My fiance and I got engaged 9/6/09 but we're young and didn't want to announce it OFFICIALLY too early so our formal announcement is going to be this September, when our parents are throwing us an engagement party...a year before our wedding.
It's just going to be a small backyard BBQ type thing.

Unlike our wedding...FH has a huge family :( Eek!

I don't know, if you haven't already had an engagement party then make it into that...otherwise, maybe just celebrate with a small family dinner. I've never really heard of a "we're getting married in one year" party.
I'm sorry! I hope I'm wording this right...I really don't mean to come across as bitchy or rude or anything.

I have to agree.  I think it's weird.  Have a party.  Enjoy the party.  But I think you're just trying too hard.  Sorry.
"Trix, it's what they/our parents wanted. Why so judgemental? And why is your wedding date over a year and a half ago? And why do you not have a groom's name? And why have you posted over 12,000 posts? And why do you always say mean things to brides?" palegirl146

I agree with the PP's... And honestly, I think it's weird that you count down to the month for your anniversary.  Sorry if that's rude, but I mean... Just seems a little excessive.

Well the 26th is our dating anniversary. We, as a couple, celebrate it because it's just a fun day each month.

We're not having our engagement party or shower yet.

Sorry if you think that is weird, everyone's different I guess.
