Send Invite to Pastor?

Hello!

I am wondering if I send an invitation to my Pastor and his wife? If so do I find out his home address or send it to the church? Also, do I address him as Pastor Michael Smith on the envelope with his wife's name under him? Thanks so much for your help! Happy Planning!

Re: Send Invite to Pastor?

  • Yes, send them an invite. Send it to his home address if you can obtain it.

I'd probably address it as Rev. and Mrs. or something along those lines. Idunno. I'm too lazy to look up the exact correct way but I'm sure it's google-able. I'm sure even the Knot has a sample.

  • Yes, you should send an invite. And ring_pop is right, it should be "Rev. and Mrs."
  • I sent it to ours at the church and addressed it to "reverend". I am pretty sure he was gay, so I didn't put anything else ;)
  • Well, since someone brought it up...my pastor is gay. They are married with a son.  So, would I address his invitation as Rev. First Last and Mr. First Last?  I'm assuming his partner wouldn't come, but it seems best to invite him, right?

  • Wait...I am assuming that your pastor is offciating the wedding...I know this is a dumb question but just for clarification...you'd still send them an invitation even if they are officiating?

Sorry, I just wanted to make sure.
  • We sent our officiant an invite.  We sent it to his church (he presides at a different church than ours, since ours is between pastors at the moment).
