so they are cooling right now, but I made some gel-candles for 2 of my best friends whose bday's are coming up, and I've got to say... I like them!
I bought a kit at hobby lobby that had a nice sized tub of the gel, a good length worth of wick, some wax crystals, red blue and yellow dye, "rain" scented oil, red riverrocks, and 4 glass jars to put them in... it was about 30 bucks.
Well I made 2 red ones for my one friend, and 2 purple for the other. I also took old mismatched jewelry and put them in the jars... for the purple I used some old pearls and some old purple earrings that were missing their partners. for red I put an old butterfly pin and some red beads from a broken necklace in.
Anyways, I thought these would make for fun and affordable BP gifts! You can buy other scents and colors in the same aisle, as well as different jars. I made 4 candles and had enough gel left over for at least 1 more... and they always have coupons running too, so I bet you could get it even cheaper!!!
