Conservatory at Madison Hotel and Bands

We are thinking of having our wedding at the Madison hotel in the conservatory.  Does anyone know if you can put a band in another area of the room besides the platform where you walk down the stairs?

    When we went to see the madison hotel, they told us the band would be on the platform.  I guess depending on your wedding size, you might be able to put it on the floor though it would be near where guests are sitting and might be too loud.

    You can, I've heard many vendors complain about the accoustics in that room though. so they need to be careful where they set up their speakers.

    I've never seen a band there, but a DJ and he was on the platform.  It's not that large a space so I think it would be difficult to put them anywere else.

    My cousin had her wedding there.... and her band was also on the platform.
    I guess if you did not feel the room to capacity with your guests, there might be room for them on the floor....?
