inexpensive caterer?

in Minnesota-Minneapolis and St. Paul
Since I'm having such trouble getting in contact with my #1 choice caterer, my plans may be out the window. Can anyone suggest a caterer that is fairly inexpensive (like $10-14 a plate) and serves traditional wedding food (not tacos or BBQ type stuff)? We are on a tight budget. Thank you!

    My sister was on a tight budget for her wedding and she went with grocery store catering, which ended up being $10 a plate. The food wasn't gourmet or anything, but it was definitely not bad. The store she used was Hy-Vee, but that was in Kansas City. Other stores around here probably have similar prices, though.

    We worked with Classic Catering, which was extremely inexpensive...but I don't know if they only cater at the 20 or so designated sites that are on their website:)

    I am having Divine Swine cater a large event for work this weekend and we are having 2 types of meat and 3 sides for $10 a person---I've heard great things about them and know they can handle a larger job. You might want to check them out!

    I know you said "no bbq" but I want to throw Brasa out there as a possibility. It's kind of bbq-ish, but much more high-end. They average about $13 per person.

    We're going with Classic Catering - the food is amazing!  They cater to a wide variety of areas.  Our wedding is in Stillwater and they're located in Minneapolis.

    Where are you having your reception? I'm having my catering done by Joanie's Catering out of Hutchinson and she has great rates, 2 meat buffet for $8.50/plate (I have about 300 guests) She travels 60 mile radius around Hutchinson. If that isn't an option, I would check out some of the "larger" towns on the out-skirts of the suburbs, they may be willing to travel and tend to charge less than the companies in the cities.
