My first dress fitting!

Thanks to all you gals who gave me advice on my undergarment debacle!  This was first time in the dress since Christmas, and it's more beautiful than I remember. My alterations person took one look at me in the dress with the undergarment and said I didn't need one. We put the dress back on sans undergarment  (undies only).

The good news: WAY more comfortable. The bad? Nothing to "suck in" my midsection, so the dress feels much tighter. She told me she could let it out about  1/4 inch each side to give me a little breathing room, but we're going to wait till I go back on July 1st to see how we're doing then. I am going to try and drop some more pounds, but I know my body, and the LAST place I lose weight in from my midsection. Nothing to do but try though and hope for the best. Worst case is that I look great but can't sit down. HA! :):)

I also discovered that since I have been growing my hair out, it  now looks like way too much hair, so I will be pulling it up off my face instead of wearing it down. My something old are antique hair clips from my grandmother, which I also tried while I had the dress on to see how they matched and they looked great. So did my satin ballet slippers from Dessy, which I am considering embellishing now thanks to some of you DIY'ers on the board.

On to the next thing on my list!

Whew - it's a great feeling when the dress looks gorgeous and you still like it!

I'm also trying to decide what to do for undergarments.  I've tried mine on without anything fancy and with spanx, but I keep noticing a little belly pooch (ugh), so I'm thinking about getting a waist cincher.  I don't know if I want to wear that much under the dress, though, so we'll see...

I can't remember - is it a corset back?  Can she add in extra boning to add more support?  My dress has a fair amount which helps streamline my waist and keep my midsection in check.  I'm like you, most stubborn part of my body to lose is my belly.

Yeah. That's a lot of good!

As for the 1/4" - I lose weight last in my belly too. And a sure fire way of losing it in the middle is No wheat, No sugar. In 8 weeks by doing NOTHING else, I lost 10 lbs and 2,5 inches off my waist. I drank 65+ oz of water a day, and ate fruits, veggies, meats, dairy, etc. The only sweetener I used was a little honey or blue agave nectar.

Like Sarack said- You can do it! :)

Yay for loving your dress!! We all have the little belly pouch, only freaky anorexic models or absolutely insane fit people (like the dancers I saw last night) don't.  It's to protect our baby growing bits :D  Anyway, I'm just wearing a kind of spanx knockoff I bought at Fred Meyer. I call them my "industrial undies." They go up to my natural waist and down to my thighs and have an extra panel across the midsection spot. It doesn't get rid of it completely, but it holds it in and smooths everything well. It's really comfortable, too!
