Looking for a Great Tasting Wedding Cake in Tampa Bay???

Hello everyone! I am looking for a great tasting wedding cake for our October 24th nupitals. I have been to two places so far and the cake has been overly sweet and the frosting people are calling buttercream is not it at all! Any of you ladies have good recommendations for me? I am not overly picky; but nothing has "wowed" me at all. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. To be clear, we want our cake to have buttercream frosting and not fondant.

Publix Greenwise in Hyde Park did a GREAT tasting session for us!
They give you 4 filling choices and you can have either buttercream, 1/2 and 1/2 (which is cream cheese and buttercream) or fondant!

The cake was SO good. It was really hard to decide which flavors to choose.
    They even deliver as well!

My contact there is Livia Long.

Good Luck in your search! Smile

I'm using It's Icing on the Cake. I was really looking for tasty cake - not just tasty frosting.

    Where have you gone?

My H and I used Let Them Eat Cake and loved everything.  Their butter cream is not the typical sweet version.  It's actually made with real butter and is so creamy and smooth.  It was delicious.  Everyone loved it!

Thanks everyone. I will try some more places. I want the entire cake to be lovely on the outside; but delish to everyone too. I only commented on the buttercream we had tried because well, frankly, it sucked. I made some at home tonight and mine tasted pretty good...

I have 2 favorites from bridal shows:

A Piece of Cake in Tampa:  www.cakestampa.com. I know she uses real butter in her buttercream icing.

Chef Nelson in Palm Harbor: http://www.chefnelson.com/

Chef Nelson is great!  We sampled his cake and ended up liking it best.  Not to mention it was the cheapest!  Plus he's a really sweet guy who knows his stuff.
