Boudoir Recs?

Hi Ladies....looking for any and all recommendations for a boudoir shoot.  I know RAW is popular and I sent an inquiry to them, but I wanted to get some other suggestions as well.

My concern with Raw is that the photos seem sort of edgy and maybe more "maxim-y?"  Which looks amazing on the right people, but I'm not sure if I have the body to pull those off.  Making sexy pouty faces would probably just make me start laughing.  Not looking for a retro "pin-up" feel either.   Just something sexy and sensual, but not too serious.  Any ideas?  Thank you!!

  • I am using Amanda Rose (amandarosephotography.com) and she has been fantastic to work with so far, very friendly and really put my mind at ease about everything. My session isn't until July but I can't wait to work with her and found her from another bride's recommendation on here.

  • Kiva Sutton of Annandale Photography does some really cool boudoir work. He is based out of New Haven, but I am sure he would travel anywhere. I am not sure about his prices for boudoir work.

I would just tell the photographer, whoever you go with, what you are looking for. I saw some really cool outdoor boudoir photos the other day. The woman wrapped a light blanker around herself and was sitting in a field or walking among trees. It was a totally different take on boudoir and definitely not maxim-y. I totally get what you are looking for.

Shoot Kiva an email. He is awesome and would definitely be able to give you want you want.
  • I'm using MaryBeth from Capture Photography, SHE IS AMAZING! You won't be disappointed! -Megan

  • I just did my shoot with RAW yesterday and thought they were beyond AWESOME!  Eric was so good with making me feel comfortable and showed me his camera with pictures of a smiling/laughing face and then the serious/sexy face to see which I preferred and I preferred the smiling ones so he went with that and I did fun playful pics.  Also, I did my own hair and makeup but the girl after me was getting hers done and they asked if she wanted the Maxim-y look or a more innocent but sexy look like VIctoria's secret - I think they will do whatever you want.  Eric is an amazing photographer!!!  I can't wait to see my pics!  Would TOTALLY recommend them!
