Gratuities for Caesar's wedding staff

I am getting married at Caesar's Palace in May and was wondering what the protocol is for tipping the various staff involved. There is the wedding coordinator, minister, musician and photographer. Insight?

Re: Gratuities for Caesar's wedding staff

  • I'm also getting married in Caesars in July, as I'm from the UK and we really don't tip the way you do in the US, I'd be interested in finding this out as well although to be honest I don't plan on tipping. As far as I'm concerned I'm already paying enough and they are only doing their job but I do realise this is simply a difference in traditions between the US and UK. I'm unsure of the ministers position, but the rest of them I won't be tipping. I'll only have nine guests, ill be in and out, I'm not asking them to go overboard/ go out of there way to help me with anything. I'll have to pay about $1000 more than I expected simply for flowers and an extra 30mins of photo time, that's plenty of additional money from me.
  • The ministers used by resort chapels very very rarely are employed by the chapel; the chapel will often even tell you to bring cash for the minister as they're an independent contractor.  If that's the case, you could offer a small extra gratuity if you feel obliged to do so but it's not entirely necessary.

As far as the rest of the staff, I would only tip them if they go above and beyond.  The chapel fees are indeed high and the staff are on salary at a normal wage, not a service wage where they work for tips like a server or taxi driver.

Once you see the pricing their in-house photographer charges for prints and/or digital rights, you definitely will not feel too inclined to tip them lol.

The musician I would guess is probably a contractor, so might be nice to tip them if they do a nice job.
