I know that Halloween is technically on Monday (gah, I hate when Halloween doesn't land on a weekend), but I know a lot of people will be celebrating this weekend...

Usually dad tries to get creepy on the kids. But we aren't doing much this year.

we carved jack-o-lanterns... DH's has a batman symbol, mine is a jack-o-lantern with heart eyes and kissy lips, and we made one for our little dog with a dog bone! but that's about it.

not throwing a party, but I'm making chicken and wild rice soup and BLT's with avocado, turkey, and apricot preserves. YUM. I'm also going to bring some Halloween treats to work. not sure yet, maybe cupcakes.

I dressed up as a skunk one year. I haven't been into dressing up for Halloween much since I turned 12 or 13. I'm just no fun.

but I love to see all the cute costumes that the kids come by with, and I always love to see my music students stop by to show me their costumes.

My big plans were last night. FI's work had their annual Halloween bash. It was a ton of fun as always, but today I'm operating on about 3 hours of sleep...

I was a shotgun bride. It was a big hit.

I don't think we'll do anything with them this year. One year we dressed Belle as Dobby. I think I've AWed this pic before, but too bad. (And yes, that is a sock tied to her tunic. Dobby is a free elf.)

Nah. Maybe someday I will.

N/A, and this is somewhat unrelated, but I used to buy those pre-cut cookies with the Halloween decorations on them that you just stick in the oven and bake. But I never actually baked them, I always just ate the raw dough. Yeah, I'm cool.

Handing out candy. Even when I lived in an apartment and didn't have trick-or-treaters, I'd go to my parents house to give out candy.

It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. I don't like the scary Halloween movies. Even Hocus Pocus freaked the bejeesus out of me.

This is hard, because I'm not a huge candy person. Probably kit kats or twix. And I always loved getting those little cinnamon candies. ETA: How could I forget those candy pumpkins?! I could eat about a billion of them.

Your favorite Halloween costume that you've ever done?

One year I was She-Ra, which was awesome because 1) Hello? It's She-Ra, Princess of Power. 'Nuf said. And 2) I made the whole thing myself, which was a big deal for me because I'm not crafty in the slightest. It came out really well too!

What are your plans for Halloween?
We usually have two weekends worth of Halloween - we spend the weekend before at Disneyworld for Epcot Food & Wine Festival and Magic Kingdom's Halloween Party, and then we do something Halloween-ey locally the actual weekend of Halloween.

Are you dressing up? If so, as what/who?
The hubs and I were a Victorian vampire bride & groom this year. I found a ballgown (complete with pick-ups) at Goodwill and rickylee helped me vamp it up. We had the fake teeth and everything...the costumes turned out kickass. Actually planning to repeat them next year.

Sandy's going to be a great white shark. We had originally planned to make her Dog the Bounty Hunter, but the shark costume was too cute to pass up.

What are your kids being for Halloween (if you have them)?
No kiddies yet.

We go all out for Halloween. All our Halloween decor is black, silver and red...very victorian and vampire-y. I'm seriously looking forward to when we get a house...we're going to be those neighbors that have the crazy yard and scare the shite out of the neighborhood kids every year.

We throw a party every year. No costumes (not enough room for that yet), but we have tons of food and booze, and we watch movies and play games.

Right now, I'm making homemade guacamole, finger cookies, a graveyard trifle, and blood orange martinis. We're also doing a "build your own tacos" bar with slowcooker carnitas - we've got corn tortillas, and a bunch of toppings to choose from (cheeses, lettuce, pico de gallo, carmelized onions, guac, sour cream, smoked sea salt, chimmichurri, cilantro...). A bunch of our friends are bringing different dishes as well.

What's your traditions for actual Halloween night - going to parties, trick-or-treating, handing out candy?
If Halloween lands on a weekend, we either have our party that night, or we go out. When it lands on a work night, we stay home and hand out candy.

Nothing comes close to the original Halloween. Zombieland has become a Halloween tradition as well. I also love Friday the 13th, The Descent, The Shining and Carrie.

100 Grands, Crunch Bars and candy corn were always my favorites. Anything pumpkin makes my day.

Your favorite Halloween costume that you've ever done?
This year's is probably my all-time favorite. The dress turned out fantastic (thank you rickylee!!!) and once I added all the accessories, the overall look just turned out awesome.

We're going to a show that FI's friend is playing in on Monday night, and Sat night we're going to another set of shows downtown. In full costume

Are you dressing up? If so, as what/who? Yes, a devil. I have bright red yoga pants and red pumps. I may not look like a college whore... but I'll defintely be in costume!

We'll be in Florida until Sunday night, so no big plans other than laying on the beach. We are going to a Seafood Festival tonight and maybe tomorrow.

Nope

It's not worth it to get a costume when we miss the weekend before with all the events.

We have a couple of costumes for my Dad's corgi, including a devil and a banana-that one is absolutely hilarious.

We usually go all out with purple and orange lights around the house, and fake gravestones and skeletons in the yard. I decorate inside, too. This year, we never got around to doing the outside-I'm pretty disappointed.

No, unfortunately not. We're really going to try to switch the week we go on vacation next year, because I really hate missing Halloween weekend.

We hand out candy. I love it. We lived in the middle of nowhere when I was growing up so I never got to do it. I'm also planning on making a big pot of chili and pumpkin cupcakes, which we will eat while watching either scary movies or Ghost Hunters Live.

Hmmm, I actually have a whole playlist on my ipod from when we used to host parties in college, but I can't remember anything specific. I know it included all of the theme music from the popular horror movies, and classics like the Monster Mash and Ghost Busters. Oh, and I also like the theme from Phantom of the Opera.

Love Hocus Pocus, and you can't beat the Halloween movies. I love when they come on AMC in a row this time of year. The Paranormal Activity movies scare the hell out of me.

What aren't my favorite treats, haha. I love Twix, Butterfingers, Snickers. Also, caramel apples are awesome, but I haven't had one in years.

My college roommates and I were all "holidays" one year. One dressed up like an elf as "Christmas", one was cupid for "Valentines Day", etc. I was New Years Eve. It was awesome.

What are your plans for Halloween?
On the actual night I plan to just stay in and give out candy. I bought a CostCo sized bag for it!

I just have to hope kids actually show up cuz my porch light is borked, so I have to hop my pumpkins light the way
