Videographer Help! (GT Modern/Villanovisions--anyone else like them??)

We are really struggling with a Videographer!!
We met with both Villanovisions and GT Modern, but---while we love their style and work---they each have major problems!

GT Modern: $2,500 for the whole day, including raw footage, won't budge one penny less than that.  8-10 month turn around for the video, which in my opinion is too long, and their contract states that you can't hold them to even that length of time

Villanovisions:  Really expensive--closer to $3,000 for the whole day, including bridal prep, and we're not too thrilled with the fact that he advertises lower prices just to reel you in.

Is there anyone else out there who is similar to these two, but a little more budget friendly, 6 month or less turn around, all day coverage for $2,500 or less??

Any help would be much appreciated!!

  • GT Modern is charging you $2500? You must live really far away or something. I see you're getting married next year, so perhaps that reflects a price increase for the following year also. We used GT and are more than pleased. We got our highlight in 1 month & we're fine with waiting for the full video. Quality takes time.

I also met with Villanovisions & was completely put off by his arrogance. Yes, he does good work. But to get the same package is much more expensive & he doesn't seem as willing to work with your style. He does what he does. He even came out & told me that he puts the lower prices on the website to attract attention because he knows no one will contact him if he puts the average prices. Those were his words. I found that lack of integrity alarming & did not want to go with him.

I think you're right---I think GT Modern is raising their prices for 2013 brides.  He wouldn't budge one cent, even though I pointed out that other people have used him for much less.

We live in North Jersey, so distance isn't a factor at all for them, they're just hiking it up!

Honestly, I don't blame them. I was really surprised at their price. Comparable videographers charged about 2x as much. That is a big increase from one year to another, but perhaps they have other jobs now & are looking to make this their FT? I dunno. They were just so lovely & so wonderful to work with. I can't imagine them raising the prices just for the heck of it. It has to be for a very good reason.
  • We're using GT Modern creations for our Sept. 2013 wedding. We're paying &1,900, not including their room for the night of since they are traveling 2.5 hours. I think the reason your price is higher is the raw footage. He told me that raw footage is an extra $500.

  • I think quality videography takes time and a 6-9 month turnaround time is sometimes worth it.  I hired AJ Ingoglia who was an absolute sweetie to work with.  His recap has kept us happy and we get the final video next week.  I believe his 2013 packages increased to 2300 but I'm not sure.  I wouldn't use a timeline against any videographer since good editing does take time.  Here's our trailer from AJ.

Have you tried Inzi productions? We used them and they were fantastic! We paid 2200$ and had our video in about 2-3 months.
