12 days to go!

Okay so I have 12 days left until the big day! I'm super excited but still very nervous/stressed. Anyone have any good advice before the wedding? Anything I'm forgetting about?

Re: 12 days to go!

  • My only advice to you is that you stop and take in as many moments with your H as you can the day of your wedding.  It will be here and be over so fast that if you don't stop and take it all in, you won't remember much.  My H and I stopped numerous times throughout the day to watch people enjoying themselves and to enjoy all of our wedding.  Oh and don't sweat the small stuff.  Not everything is going to go 100% as planned.  Let someone else deal with any problems the day of.  Relax and enjoy your day!  And don't forget to come back and post some pictures!

All of this.  Seriously, the day of do not worry about any DIY or anything outside of what you have to do (get ready, enjoy yourself, get married).  Things will come up but put someone else in charge of them.

  • Oooh, congrats! It's been a long road getting to this moment, but I'm sure it will all be wonderful.

The advice above is great. From now until your wedding day will seem to fly by. The last week will feel like 3 days.

There is nothing to be nervous about. You are marrying your best friend. Whatever you planned will be amazing, and since it never goes as planned, you have to let go whatever is not perfect and accept that your day will be the best of your life up to this point, and the little stuff just does NOT matter.

If you have not made a "day of timeline", do it. Make sure you have allowed for enough emergencies to enter into the equation (because they always do). Leave LOTS of wiggle room. You will be glad you did. Give everyone a 15 or 30 minute earlier "need by" time, as many people traditionally run late. If it means they are early, so be it. Better that than late.

The day of your wedding will go so fast you won't believe it. Just remember as told above to take time to look around at everyone at your reception, people who have gotten you to this point where you are, standing next to your husband. And don't forget to EAT the fabulous food you arranged. I made sure to do that, LOL.

Good luck, and enjoy! And absolutely come back with pictures.
