Hi! I'm having a picnic themed outdoor wedding inJuly with approx 60 invited guests. Our ceremony starts at 1 with the reception immediately following at the same venue. Our meal consists of cold sandwiches, fruit, chips, and pasta salads. I'm looking for ideas on dessert. Suggestions??

    I agree, pie would be a perfect complement to your menu. You could have maybe a couple of crowd pleasers like apple, cherry, blueberry, and also some cookies.

    If your reception is indoors, you could have a sundae bar, which we did as a late night snack. Our caterer had 3 kinds of ice cream, plus raspberry sorbet, various topping sauces and crushed standard toppings like nuts, etc. It went over very well.

    I've also seen people mention renting an ice cream truck, or ice cream handcart filled with various types of gourmet popsicles/creamsicles. Those would also go with a picnic menu.
