Awwww, Thank you! Hey yall!!!! Glad to be back!!!! The honeymoon was THEBOMB.COM!!!! okay, so yall know I'm not good at giving recaps but here goes:

We arrived in New Orleans on Saturday night after packing literally all dayum day!! We both packed too many clothes!!! LOL! Hubby and I's flight left out at 6am :-( on Sunday morning. We were so tired...anyhow we arrived in San Juan Puerto Rico around noon. We immediately check in on the cruise...we had VIP check in...at this port..totally different from just a regular check in. They had food, drinks, gifts for us - very very nice. And no waiting in line :-) We didn't do anything in SJ we just marveled at our room. OMGeee...that room was huge...we got an Oceanview Suite. Very very very nice and spacious. They had beverages for us already in our refrigerator but they cost so i took them mugs out and put the wine we purchased at port in our frige.

Our first stop was St. Thomas. Here we went to Look Out Point or something like that and Magen's Bay/Beach. Very nice beach. Oh, and thanks to Footballwife, we purchased a gown up camera LOL (Tash...it has 42x zoom....so thank you very much for the info you gave us prior to the trip!).

Next day was a sea day...didn't do much in regards to the cruise :-) Sat out on the balcony and enjoyed the Carribbean sea.

Next Stop....BARBADOS! We didn't have any plans here because I ran out of time researching what to do, but I did find out we could go to Carlise Bay/Beach...beautiful white sand beach. We stayed there for a few hours and walked the downtown area. Found out the best place to eat (of course) that the locals enjoy. So, we headed to Ryanne's. We had everything on their plate lunch menu which included: Grilled Steak Fish, Stuffed Flying Fish, BBQ pork chop, fried chicken, tomato beef stew, mashed yams, cornmeal Cou Cou, Spicy herbed Rice, and Macoroni Pie...everything was tasty...just cooked a little different from what we are probably use to and the fish had a different texture than what I'm use to but it was good.

On way to ST. LUCIA...now this was our most favorite island mostly because of what we did. I booked us a tour through Spencer's Tours (land and sea tour). This is definitely the way to go and Spencer did not disappoint. St. Lucia is mountanous and mostly rain forest. Beaches in my opinion were not the best as compared to the other islands we visited but there were so many other things to enjoy. Total relaxation and seclusion here in St. Lucia!!! We drove through downtown Castries, west side of the island, south side of the island, drove through an active volcano, went to Anse Leray for Creole Bread (the best I have ever had), enjoyed the Toraille Waterfalls, bought some reall cocoa, went to Jelouisie Beach which sits between the Pitons. Had an authentic Creole lunch and took a boat to Marigot Bay. We learned a great deal of history of the island and the people. We will definitely go back.

moving towards ST.KITTS: Baaaaby....this is the most beautiful island of the islands. The most stunning was watching where the Atlantic Ocean and Carribbean Sea join together...simply breathtaking. They have black sand beaches which we visited and saw Nevis, Saba and a few other islands. We will definitely be back to this island as well. It's a very small island and going around it didn't take long. We did not do any historical tours here so this is a reason for us to go back...we did go to ? Manor...I don't remember the name but it was beautiful.  Some points of interest are Friars Beach and Frigate Beach...the most beautiful beaches I saw while on honeymoon. Definitely beats Aruba's Eagle Beach I must admit!

ST. MAARTEN/ST. MARTIN: Here you get to visit two very different cultures on one island. There is s a Dutch side and a French side. The French side is mostly on the Atlantic side and is gorgeous. We went to Orient Beach which is the nude beach and there is Bikini Beach which is part of OB but it's topless. No one was at the time we went. Sarafina's has the best pastries I have ever tasted. It's on the French side of the island as well...I mean can you really make a crossant that good?!?!!?! I didn't think so until I had one here!
On the Dutch side, there is Maho Beach/Bay by Sunset Bar...this is where the airplanes fly literally like 100 feet over you. This was absolutely amazing to experience and we have some great video and pics with the planes literally right over us.  Simpson Bay was beautiful on the Dutch side. Will be going back to St. Maarten/St. Martin soon :-)

SAN JUAN: we did a last minute tour once we debarked off the ship because we had a late flight. They took us around Old SJ which was nice, but the best was the food. We had something called Mofongo's which is basically mashed plaintains seasoned and fried...i think fried or baked...it was like a huge french fry with it being crisp on the outside and tender on inside. It was described to us like a stuffed potato. This was the best! I had mine stuffed with garlic chicken and hubby had his with shrimp with creole sauce...very tasty.

We arrived back home early this morning. We can't stop looking at the pics we took. We have over 1000 photos already. I'll post some pics when I transfer them over to the computer. Overall, we wonderful experience and feel truly blessed that we were able to experience all of these islands, the people, and the culture. i would definitely go on this cruise again so if anybody wanna make it a trip...we are definitely game :-)

    Cha

  • {getting back up from the Tackle Hug} LOL! Thank yall. We enjoyed ourselves. I'm glad glad glad to be back! Now back to reality :-) and event planning Laughing!  We took the Carnival Victory out of San Juan. I think it'll be the Carnival Valor from here on out though...not sure how they set that up. Oh, I forgot to state that the food on our cruise was delicious. And being from South Louisiana and not to mention I'm a Foodie...my standards are definitely high. The selection could always be better but the taste was very good. The variety shows were okay. Only did those 2 times. Comedy was good. This is definitely a cruise for the destinations!

Yep...Maho...off the chain...those planes fly right over your head!

Ahhh...St. Kitts Smile makes me smile when I think about it. Okay so from the ship go to the right towards the Atlantic side. LOL! It's much more than that but the highway makes a circle around the entire island. It's cloe to where the Black Rock formations are.  It's rough on that side. No one was swimming or sunbathing there. It's more of a picture opportunity ya know. I'm sure there are other beaches with the black sand though...but it's not jet black but you can tell the difference.

  • Welcome back! I've been waiting for the honeymoon recap...now I have to wait 6 more months to get on the ship, lol! I'll definitely check out Spencer's Tours. How did you get the VIP check in though? I don't think we have that set up (FI booked the cruise).
