Really frustrated

So Fi is out to sea, and we have three weeks left until the wedding. I have so much left to do, and I am despairing of ever getting it done. My printer (which I need to use to finish some diy's) is not being found by my computer, and Fi is the tech savvy one. I am not. I really wanted to get everything done before he got home so we could relax a bit before the wedding, but now it looks like I'm going to have to try and relax now, and then freak out even more when we are a week before the wedding, with family flying in, and I still have thirty things to do! I'm really aggravated this morning. edited because I couldn't spell "really."

Re: Really frustrated

  • Hi! If it helps you any, I am right there with you. FI is on the boat while I'm trying to take care of everything, with limited communication!

Can a friend help you out with the printer? Or can you have a print shop do it?

Are the thirty things you have left big things, or little things? Try deciding when each thing needs to be done. Plan out a schedule, putting a few things on each day. That way it doesn't seem so daunting. So rather than "I have 30 things left to do!!!" it will be "I have four things to do today."

  • We had so much printer shiit going on the week of the wedding. It was so annoying!

Can you go to a Kinkos? What needs to be printed?

Hang in there, it'll get done and be over with soon. :-)

  • You can always try to buy a cheaper printer at the store if you really cant figure it out. Make sure you unhook and rehook all the cables and try it again. Maybe a cable is just loose? The entire time I was planning H was either on deployment or back in Japan. I definitely had moments where everything was frustrating but it will all get done in time. Ask a friend or family to help you out if you could. Don't freak out and try to calm down. Take a break here and there too. Don't stress yourself out too much.
  • Hang in there girl!  I would recommend seeing if there is a print shop near you.  We could have had all of our invitations, inserts, placecards and programs printed for like $75 at a place by my home.  But instead we decided to save the money and print it ourselves....and of course had tons of issues with that.  But it might be worth the money if it saves you time and frustration, and gives you a chance to relax with your soon-to-be hubby!
  • It will get better.  I know it sounds like there is just so much to do but if you can like Binx suggeted get a friend or something to help out.  I will say that I reached the "eff it" part about a month out.  Just enjoy y'alls day and most everything else will work out.

OH- Hey and Welcome and by the way that dog in your siggy is just so cute I could just eat him up.

  • Thanks Crown! That's my baby: Truman. And thanks ladies! The problem with the printer is that my computer can't find it, and there is no way to hook directly to it. I'm calling HP about it this morning. Hopefully they can help. It's just frustrating with soooo little time left!

  • Honestly, printing stuff at Staples was well worth the $40 or whatever....you can upload your image digitally, and create the print project all online then just go pick it up. If you can't get your printer worked out, I'd just say screw it! Sometimes it's easier to have someone else do stuff! :)

Are you getting married in CT? We got married in Hartford about 6 months ago!

  • Oh Girl... SAME situation. My wedding is in three (good God) weeks and I still have a lot to do. FI was on the boat up until the beginning of this week and it was hard to do anything. I feel like I have a ton of stuff and FI is like "Just wait until I'm there I will help you"....ughhh I wantto be relaxing the week before the wedding. Not making centerpieces.

About the printer, if it is wireless the wireless router may be on the fritz. There should be a cord that you can hook it up with..., if there isn't  and the wireless is too much of a problem... go to Best Buy (or whereever they sell printers)... and tell them the type of printer you have and you need a cord to connect it to your computer. Normally the wireless router plugs into the same spot that the cord would go, so just unplug the wireless thingy-ma-gig and plug in the cord... then plug in the USB into the computer port.

    Welcome!!

  • Agree with Irish!  We printed stuff at Office Max and it worked out perfectly and was worth every penny!
  • Amanda: Good God, that was fast!

OP: I gotta agree with everyone else on this...sometimes it's just not worth the extra stress when you're so close to the big day. I hope everything works out!
  • OMG the printer drove me crazy weeks before the wedding! Hang in there, you'll get it all done! And what you don't get done, no one will even notice! I completely forgot to print my programs for the wedding, but it was seriously no big deal. I just have an asston of blank wedding programs that will never be used now LOL! (anyone need wedding programs?)
  • Irish: yup. We're marrying in Mystic. I grew up here, so it was a no brainier. I would skip most of it, but I need programs because it is an unusual service with a call and response piece to it. I also have to do escort cards which indicate meal choice, and another piece of it was for my centerpieces. Grrrr.... There is a USB port in the back, and an sd slot in the front, so I'll probably figure it out eventually! Thanks for the support guys!
