Plus Size Dress Help!

I'm just starting to look for my dress and just "window shopping" in a few botique Bridal Salons online I'm starting to get a little worried that the only place to get a plus size dress will be David's Bridal.

Has anyone else gotten a plus size dress in the Philly area and has a place to recommend?

Thanks!!

Re: Plus Size Dress Help!

  • Well. I got a plus size dress at Bridaltown but I DO NOT recommend them. So if you come across their name, dont go there.  Read the reviews. Dont get me wrong...I LOVE my dress. I just didnt like the customer service..They are located in Collegeville. I am not a big fan of Davids Bridal either, thats why I didnt go there.

  • I used to work at Coronet Bridal shop in feasterville and they have a section of plus size dresses. check them out
  • I had an amazing experience at Coronet's! They were really great, not pushy, and a lot of their sample sizes were bigger so I could actually try a lot on! I highly recommend them :)
  • Thanks for the input!  I will check out Coronet!

For the record, I have nothing against David's Bridal (am getting my bridesmaid's dresses there) I just wanted a little more selection and choices!!
  • I bought my dress in Gwynedd at Country Bride and they had tons of plus size gowns that were beautiful
  • I realize its a litte ways away but my mom lives in MD and about an hour from there in frederick, VA there is a popular bridal shop for called  curvy girl bridal, i'm actually goig there in a few weeks, it had great reviews!
  • I agree with some of the earlier posts - do NOT go to Bridaltown!  Terrible experience there.  I too got my dress at Country Bride & Gent in Lansdale.  They also have a shop in Bensalem.  They had plus sizes available, private dressing rooms, and customer service that was beyond fantastic.  They don't work on commission and they genuinely want you to love your gown.  Not pushy at all!  very helpful and supportive which is not always the case when you are looking for a plus size gown.  Good luck!

I bought mine from David's in Springfield. The service was great until after I got my gown. Then I was dropped like a hot potato. No longer was there any service involved in my interactions with them. I was sorely disappointed.
