I just got engaged on November 28th 2010 and trying to figure things out. As of right now, I am the first of all my friends to get engaged so I am kinda lost with the whole wedding idea. As of right now we have picked out our colors and our date which is July 28th 2010. I am currently looking for a fun theme to be for the wedding, but I am having a hard time.... any insight?

    Congrats on the engagement!  What are your colors?  It might help us give you suggestions if we knew what colors you were interested in and what type of direction you are taking.

    Congrats!

    You don't need a theme, that is just something that is perpetuated by the wedding industry. Choose your colors and go from there. Your vision will fall into place once you start planning and shopping for items, etc.

    i agree you dont have to have a theme.Go with something that is your personality.  Just start picking out ideas that you really like and it will all come togeather. CONGRATS and happy planning!!!!!! :)

    I agree, you don't really need to start out with a theme. As you start planning and meeting with vendors and such, things will kind of fall together. It was when I visited my florist that the "Day of the Dead" theme came to me for mine, since my wedding is Oct. 29th, close to Halloween and such. So don't stress about it now. Just pick some colors you like and go with it.

    And congrats! And was your date supposed to be July 28th 2011 or 2012?

    Congrats! I would ditch the theme and just go with two or three colors. Happy planning!

    You already have a theme and apparently just don't see it.  It's love, romance,"till death do us part", and all that jazz.  Don't force your wedding into some hokey theme.  It's not the prom.

    You don't HAVE to have a wedding theme. You could just use your colors in order to decorate accordingly. Have fun!
