RPOTD musings

Now that I've located my eyebrows (stuck to a plane flying overhead - they're fedexing them back to me when they land), I'm wondering - If that's the way you think, why do you even want that gold? Wouldn't you want gold that has never touched a jewish person in any way?

This is in no way what I think, but: Jews are money handlers, anyway. All your money has been touched by Jews. Might as well take that gold, and probably get back some of what they've "jewed" you out of.

And now I need a shower.

Also, regardless of what you feel about any person or group of people, WHY WOULD YOU WANT A RING MADE OUT OF DEAD PEOPLE'S FILLINGS????

    It's just so goddamn creepy.

There is a sick part of me that would have wanted to talk to that woman for hours, though. I need to know how her vile mind works.

Her husband left after 20 minutes or so and I am glad he took his racist bag of bones with him.  Ugh.  That lady gives me the creeps.

    racist!

hi, i'd like my no-conflict diamond in a jew-free-gold setting, thanks.

I'm with bmom in that Jewish people were typically money changers, bankers, and jewelers, so probably not too likely. however i would prefer that my jewelry wasn't made out of someone's good teeth/fillings.

Still, the disease doesn't put that sht in your brain. Maybe she doesn't actually own any "jew gold," but she probably also wouldn't imagine she did unless it was something she'd always wanted.

<div>It usually just brings down barriers...so your filter that knows not to say something horrid isn't there.</div><div>but that's if it's dementia following 'traditional routes'.  And sometimes dementia comes w/ 'crazy' of a different form--where the deterioration makes them fixate in abnormal ways and believe things they honestly did NOT believe before.</div><div>(kinda like most people are more honest w/ drunk--but some lie like mad when drunk)</div>

I disagree.   She may have watched or red a news report about it, or heard someone talk about it once, and it put it in her head.   It would have nothing to do with what a person wants, desires or has experienced.   I'm not an expert, obviously, but my mom was a nurse that worked specifically with Alzheimer's patients.    It was truly amazing and heartbreaking to see what people can turn into.

Please also note that the massa on the plantation had no problem sticking his magic wand into Kizzy. Now, she couldn't drink out of his glasses, but her honey pot was a go.

Agreed.  Exb/f's dad, whom I took care of, had a dementia-type disease and he would fantasize about everything - real memories, things he'd seen on CNN, things he watched us do the day before.  It was crazy.  And then other days he'd be totally lucid.  Sometimes he'd wake up and only be abe to speak Farsi, but we would go to dinner and clear as day, he'd say, "I love Outback!" followed by continuous Farsi.

If this lady was that bad off, her H wouldn't leave her unattended like that though.

It was probably some dementia and probably some old fashioned racism/anti-semitism. It really wasn't that uncommon 50 years ago to hate blacks, Jews, whoever was different. And those feelings run deep.

Also, I agree that Alzheimers takes away your ability to determine right from wrong in some cases. DH's grandmother would steal candy bars from the bagel place we went to. She also once asked me very loudly if the girl sitting in the next booth was "colored".

denial is a very powerful thing...
my gramps would leave my gramma alone w/ people long after she shouldn't have been--she wasn't a danger, she was just...crazy?

    But, still uncomfortable all around.
