125 days and 25 pounds...

Can it be done - can I lose 25 pounds, in a healthy way, in 125 days??

  • That's almost 18 weeks.  A healthy rate of weight loss is .5-2lbs per week.  If you lost 1.4 lbs each week then yes.  However you should note that is best case.  Exercise every week and eat healthy watching portions.

  • PP puts it in great terms.
It's possible if you really need to lose that much.. But make that your goal. it's always best to aim high, and even if you don't hit it, you will hit some amount and feel great about that!
Even 5 pounds of fat loss is a good amount of mass!
  • You put it in good terms too!  It will be rough and you won't really have room for any slip ups.  I slipped big time so since January it's been 8lbs.

  • ENTIRELY possible and ENTIRELY healthy. Proper nutrition (notice how I didn't say diet) and exercise!

The best overall fitness program I've found is DDPYoga check it out.

I took my P90X and Insanity and tossed them both after the first week. This is a NO impact workout (meaning you won't hurt your joints by jumping around and such).

  • I've been doing weight watchers for rougly 150 days (roughly 21 weeks) now and have lost 20 pounds. The most I've lost was 4 pounds in a week, but that was my first week and it was all water weight. The more I've lost, the more slowly it comes off. I know that's because what I'm losing now is actual fat, which makes the smaller losses much easier to handle. If you stick with it, you can definitely come close to your goal!

  • I agree with the PP...definitely work out as many days a week as you can...I am personally aiming for about 4-5 days a week, and focusing on cardio every day and weight training 3 days a week...and eat veggies, fruit, lean meats...limit your carb intake, so if you normally eat a breakfast sandwich and a sanwich for lunch, cut one sanwich out...and drink lots of water!!  Good luck!!

  • Agree with your thoughts rsaleh84 . I'm just an avid supporter and promoter of DDPYoga because it incorporates it all.

Don't confuse it with traditional yoga wherein the "data" doesn't support the idea of weight loss(!): William Boards', The Science of Yoga: Risks and Rewards (2012).
