honeymoon deals, are you out there?

Hello,
I am trying to find honeymoon deals and I'm not sure where to look. We looked on apple vacations and some other traveler websites and the only deals are really if you book it for the next week or 2. I don't want to be a last minute planner but I want to save money and not pay full price. We were looking at the carribean. I want to go for 6/7 days/nights and do many activities. We are going sometime after our wedding July 13th. I'd like to stay in a nice area but it doesn't have to be an absolutely extraordinary hotel because we plan on doing many different activities. I was looking at all inclusive but am having trouble seeing the cost of the flight when I do that. Please help!

Re: honeymoon deals, are you out there?

  • What is your budget? Apple will have some last minute travel deals, but most resorts, especially in July, will have ongoing specials. The best bet is to work with a travel agent who can point you to resorts and areas within your budget, as well as include airfare, transfers, and other stuff in the package.

  • We booked on CheapCaribbean.com - it wasn't a big "deal" but they did have the lowest price out of 4-5 websites for the resort and week we wanted.
  • AllInclusiveoutlet.com and TravelZoo.com both have usually great prices I have found. Travel Zoo often has amazing deals. The dates might not line up though. But on a weekly basis they send out a list of their top deals and sometimes they are amazing.

  • We are getting married on 7/13 also. I have been looking and noticed that the prices are much higher right now then they were in previous months, I think because of the holidays. i have been researching the best times to book vacations and  I have read, numerous times, that around Easter is the best time to book as the prices are the cheapest.

  • monitor the site.....SNIQUEAWAY.COM.......you have a large booking window and great prices.....we booked one Carribean trip in April for August trip
  • sandals has been doing up to 65% off - we got a really great deal with it!
  • I'll second cheapcarribean.com if you want a good balance between planning ahead and still getting a deal.

As an aside, I went to Puerto Rico on a deal through them in mid-July once and it wasn't nearly as hot as I was dreading.  There was a great sea breeze, and the bigger issue was that storms were starting up and the surge was almost unswimmable at some beaches.  Still, had a blast and no regrets at all!
  • Do you need to go to their website to get the deals?

  • We were interested in going to Riviera Maya because it has much more to do than other places. I'm just trying to get as much "all inclusive" as possible. I have worked with a travel agent and the prices she gave me were exactly the prices on apple's website. I didn't see any real "deals".

  • OP you may not get discounts or deals. you're traveling in prime HM sesason to prime HM places.  while it's the off season for vacation there most AIs dont actually get 'cheap' in price. worry less about getting a discount-worry more about getting what you want for what you can afford.

  • Check out the DR Depending on where you are flying from it can be super affordable. We stayed at an all-inclusive called Lifestyles. Had an awsome vacation. Great because it had quiet areas as well as bars and clubs. We even went waterfalling. This is the site we went through. They were great.

Tell them Kathleen sent you. They should remember us since our trip was not that long ago. Good luck!
