How do you negotiate price with a DJ? How to negotiate with a Photographer too

Hi guys, I found a DJ that I like and would like to use, the price is pretty fair, but I would still like to try to get a better deal with them. How do you negotiate price with a DJ?
How do you negotiate with a photographer?

    Just say in an email or phone call...

    "My budget is $xxx. I'm looking for a minimum of A, B, and C from my photographer/DJ; is that something you can work with?"

    A, B, and C could be hours of coverage, travel if your wedding will be any kind of distance from the vendor's headquarters, or anything else that would be important to you.
