A guy in our church (maybe 20ish) who has Down Syndrome was called up onto the stage on Sunday morning and he had medals around his neck. The pastor called him up and explained that he was in the Special Olympics in skiing and said, "Those aren't bronze medals" to which he replied, "Nope. Then pastor said, "Those aren't silver medals" to which he replied, "No, THEY ARE GOLD!" and the whole church started to hoot and clap. It was awesome.

My FI is inspiring... he has helped me to ease into this new job. He came after school Monday to help me move some of my professional items (from the car) into the classroom!! He was out of town last night on business so I stayed at his apt by myself to save on the additional 30-35 minutes of driving this morning.

Another inspiration... our new pastor spoke about asking God to give you peace and satisfaction where He has led you to go. The title of his sermon was "I don't want to be the pastor of ____ baptist church" which was the attitude he adopted when he was an associate pastor, and God led him to the right jobs, the right people, etc. It's comforting to hear it from someone who knows first-hand that God has called you to do something else, but he has to use THAT experience to hone you and and to make you better so that when you GET to the place where you were first called to be, you are ready to take it on, full force.

I needed to hear that message this week, for sure. :-)

The other students that are involved in the campus ministry I'm apart of inspire me. The way they selflessly love the people around them just leaves me speechless a lot of the time.

Today's devotion was really encouraging, I would like to share portions of it.

- Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this? - Esther 4:14
Our station in life is inconsequential as long as we are in God's hands. Where He puts us is His sovereign decision... Just as God prepared Esther, He is preparing you for His next assignment for you. Each step of faithfulness prepares you for what awaits. God will use your current circumstances for His next great work in and through your life.

This was just so inspiring to FI and I in our current situation (could be living 6 hours away from home and starting our careers in less than a month, and getting married 4 months before planned!). Praise God.
